podcast· 36:32· Ep 33IWP Ep33 Short Stories on California Wine 1 - Historical Episode
Historical Episode IWP Ep33 Short Stories on California Wine 1. Usually we have an interview or one subject running throughout an episode. This episode will be a little different. Doing research for episodes I often come across stories and people who can’t fill a full episode but the stories of both are fun and unusual and deserve to be heard. Sometimes these older publications just have weird and random columns, sections or sometimes it's just a sentence, nearly all of these I’m collecting will be Pre-Prohibition. Some of these I’ll read the article just how it’s written- and others will be more original. “40,000 Gallons of Wine Seized” “George” “Judge Lorigan on Cabernet Pfeffer” “John L. podcast· 47:20· S5E14Light Strike: Wine's Not-So-Secret Scandal
Light strike is probably the biggest wine fault you've never heard of. Bigger than cork, bigger than oxidation or anything else. That pretty-looking bottle of rosé perched on the bright supermarket shelf in a clear glass bottle? Probably knackered. If it's been exposed to light for a while, it may end up smelling of boiled cabbage, drains, or wet dog. At the very least, its character will almost certainly have been degraded from what its winemaker intended. And that's not what you're paying your hard-earned money for. It's nothing less than daylight robbery. In this episode, we explain what light strike is, how fast it happens, and which wines are most at risk. We hear from experts, including the co-author of an illuminating recent research paper, and rage against the fact that the problem seems shockingly prevalent, but so little is being done. We even carry out our very own applied research experiment (featuring bottles, funnels, argon gas and a blindfold) which gives unequivocal res

videoMaking Taylor s Port Wine
Nestled among the lodges and cellars of Oporto, Taylor’s is one of the oldest of the founding Port Houses. Dating from 1692, the House quickly realised that the more muscular wines of the upper Douro Valley greater suited the British taste, and ventured into previously uncultivated areas to seek out vineyard sites. Taylor’s First Estate Reserve Port commemorates this exploration and the subsequent purchase of an Estate near Régua in 1744. A vow to remain independently-owned to this day has allowed Taylor’s to commit to produce only the finest Port wines of quality and character. None more so than the wines from Quinta de Vargellas, the House’s pre-eminent estate in the wild, hilly reaches of the Douro Valley. Of the vines at Quinta de Vargellas, by far the most renowned are the Vinha Velha, which represent a piece of viticultural history, are classified as World Heritage, and produce one of the rarest of all Vintage Ports. Vinha Velha Ports contain a blend of many traditional grape var
podcast· 57:41· Ep 132#132 De ideale wijnkaart
Not only does Cecile Giannangeli of Patz & Hall Winery based in Sonoma County, California share epic life hacks, we find out they produce wine from the Dutton Ranch. Nonetheless we still had barrels of fun with this coincidence so be sure to watch this wine tasting of some of the very best single vineyard wines from Sonoma, California. Shouts to Holly Rocco Feraci & Republic National Distributing Company for the introduction. #wine #chardonnay #sonoma ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome to Bozzelli’s Wine TV with your host Mike Bozzelli.
