podcast· 1h 42m· S6E64From Life Sentence to Sought After Speaker; the Ring Leader of an Organized Crime Syndicate in Texas Shares his Tweaker Tricks of the Trade and the Message He Heard in Jail the Changed His Life
Note from Jeannine: So, this is a pretty big one for me. In 2020, while my studio was closed, I started manically listening to various podcasts every day looking for motivation and insight. One morning while sitting on the floor of our strength room, I heard the story of The Coffee Bean, as told through Clemson coach, Dabo Sweeney. The origins of that story begin in a jail cell in Texas - with today's guest. Interviewing him and telling him the impact his story had on me was a very cool experience and a reminder to me that my Higher Power is always working in my life...even when I can't see it. Special thank you to Dave from Dopey for connecting me with Damon. Enjoy! Episode description: Today Jeannine interviews Damon West, M.S. Criminal Justice. Damon is a college professor, internationally known keynote speaker and 3 x Wall Street Journal bestselling author. His bestselling business book, The Coffee Bean: A Simple Lesson to Create Positive Change , was listed by Forbes’ in the “Top

videoGerman Wine Climate Explained | Cool Climate, Zones, Rainfall & Climate Change
Germany is one of the world’s most important cool-climate wine regions, and in this video I explain how climate and weather shape German wine styles, from bright acidity and aromatics to ripening challenges and climate change. If you’d like full access to the entire Mastering Germany series — plus in-depth region guides, producer interviews and exclusive wine education — you can join the Wine with Jimmy Club here: https://e-learningwine.winewithjimmy.com/program/wwj-club I break down Germany’s wine-growing zones, temperature variation, rainfall patterns, maritime and continental influences, and why regions like Pfalz, Baden, Mosel, Ahr, Franken and Saxony behave so differently in the vineyard. This is a general overview of German climate, before diving into each region in more detail elsewhere in the series. In this video I cover: Germany’s temperate continental climate Wine-growing zones (Zone A and parts of Zone B) Diurnal and annual temperature variation The role of cloud cov

Holiday time is Wine Time!
By Doug Fabbioli As the leaves are turning colors and the outdoor temperatures are dipping downward, many people start thinking about the ever-growing holiday season. Seasonal decorations are appearing in the stores and economic talking heads are discussing the latest predictions of how people will spend their hard-earned money this season. I want to promote the idea of gifting and sharing locally grown and crafted wines with your family and friends. Our industry continues to work, learn and grow to create high quality wines for you and your loved ones to enjoy. A full-bodied red wine may be appropriate for your Uncle, while a bright and fruity sparkling wine may be appropriate for a family care giver. In addition to those wines, many wineries are making fruit wines, port style wines, ciders and dynamic white wines as well. Local wineries and wine shops are looking forward to helping you make your selections for the season celebrations and gifts. If you are having a celebration, consid

video$80 Wine vs $380 Wine (Single Vineyard Tasting)
Single vineyard wines—wines from a single plot of earth that express "crystalline clarity of time and place." Today we're tasting six single vineyard wines from iconic producers around the world, ranging from $80 to $380, to answer the question: are they worth the money? What Is A Single Vineyard Wine? Most wines blend fruit from multiple vineyards to create consistency. Single vineyard wines do the opposite—they bottle one specific site to showcase its unique character. The idea: if you want to taste terroir (place), you need to isolate one spot. These wines typically cost more because: Lower production (one site = less volume) Higher risk (one bad vintage = no blending options) Iconic producers (reputation commands premium pricing) Prestige factor (the best sites are famous) The Lineup: Six single vineyard wines from legendary producers across Australia, France, and Italy. All designed to express their specific plots with precision. The Question: Does paying for "place" deliver

IWP Ep106 Book Report: Idwal Jones - "Vines in the Sun" and "The Vineyard". And Still The Vine, Her Ancient Ruby Yields. Today we’re discussing the author Idwal Jones, one of my favorite wine writers and one of the more unique ones that California has produced. But, he isn’t really a wine writer, his only wine related books are 1 non fiction-ish book and 1 novel on wine but they are both best in class. His Novel, The Vineyard is remarkable for how much it puts you into the setting of a Napa Valley winery pre-prohibition. While Vines in the Sun takes you on a tour through the vineyards and wineries of early California winemaking, making stops up and down the state. A cross between a 19th century travelog and Anthony Bourdain or Hunter S Thompson. Both were written in the mid 1900’s and still read vividly today. 10/31/25: Swine City Brewing Company's I Put a Spell on You, A Timely Halloween Post
Yet another Halloween season draws to a close. This is one of my top two favorite times of year (it's tied with the Christmas season). Now that my son's three, I find myself loving Halloween and its build up more and more. It's a shame it ends so soon! But I'm seeing it off with style. This is a beer I had on tap when we hung out with my in-laws for a late-birthday celebration. I loved it enough that I bought a sixer to bring home with me. Is it as good canned as it is from the source? Let's find out as I drink Swine City's I Put a Spell on You. Swine City 's located in an industrial part of Fairfield, OH. They boast a dive bar vibe while offering delicious craft beers, seltzers, wine, and food (hot dogs, via Underdog). The vibe of the place is unmatched--there's nothing corporate here. Just gritty, do-it-yourself craft beer. If I lived closer to the place, I'd be there all the time. The first thing that grabbed me about canned I Put a Spell on You (Spell, henceforth) was the label. Jaipur in the Sheffield Tap
My mum’s partner, George Marsh, died in August after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on Bassingham Fen, 11 miles southwest of Lincoln, he owned a small farm in Bassingham village on which he worked for almost his entire life. He was 83. To say it’s been tough on mum would be an understatement. She’s already had to say goodbye to her own mum, and to her twin sister, Michelle, who died of a rare form of dementia a few years ago. “I’ve had enough grief for one lifetime,” she tells me. Because of this, over the past couple of months I’ve spent a significant amount of time in Scothern, the village I grew up in, and in Lincoln itself, which is about six miles away as the crow flies. I’m on my way there now, in fact. I don’t drive, but it’s not a difficult journey. I walk to Stockport station, which takes about 20 minutes, and then catch the express train to Sheffield where I connect with the service to Lincoln. Usually, I have about 30 minutes between trains, but today my train i
