The Wine Makers – Amie Fields & Lyndon Smith, Botanist and Barrel
A chance meeting led to a very cool show that turned us into total cider freaks. Amie and Lyndon happened to come in for a tasting at Winery Sixteen 600 on their way to a site visit at the local Sonoma Cider Shop, Pomme. They are based in Cedar Grove and Asheville North Carolina and make cider, pet-nat, piquette and wines from local sources. Their energy, enthusiasm and creativity were truly inspiring and everything we tried was amazing. The winery supports local farmers using only sustainably and organically sourced fruits, including blueberries, heirloom apples, and unusual ingredients like hibiscus. The ciders and wines are raw, wild, unrefined, unfiltered, and unpasteurized, allowing customers to feel good about what they’re drinking. Ask for them at your local cider shop, or if you live in the south, go check them out, they are constantly doing fun events and pop-ups.

videoSon vs. Dad Wine Tasting Wars - Malcorta - Javier Sanz
Javier Sanz is a winemaker that likes to be called viticulturist first as he continues the tradition of five generations of winegrowers of more than 150 years. His philosophy is based on the conservation of pre-phylloxera vineyards, local grape varieties, and the recovery of varieties that have almost become extinct. Javier Sanz’s vineyards are laid out in a mosaic of plots, farms and small vineyards, all within the Valladolid municipality of La Seca. Their freshness, complexity and balance are the result of the personality of a territory, a cellar and a tradition. The World Wine Web For more info visit: https://winedos.com/product/malcorta-2021/

videoThe Story Behind The Canned Wine Co. Label - Designed by Neil Tully MW
Ben presents a video introducing you to the stories behind each of the Canned Wine Co. range's colourful designs. The designs are made by the Master of Wine Neil Tully, from Amphora Design in Bath, who has modelled each one on Ben's tasting notes of each wine. The idea was first inspired by the excellent Sarah Heller MW. Sarah paints each of her tasting notes into beautiful portraits to give her followers an idea of what her impression of each wine's texture and flavour was like. We wanted to share a similar visual cue for our customers to instantly understand the various styles of wines we offer at Canned Wine Co., from Markus Huber's Vibrant & Zesty Gruner to our full-bodied Old Vine Garnacha by flying Scotsman winemaker Norrel Robertson MW. The range also features a plush, ripe and velvety Viognier from Famille d'Exea in the Languedoc, a fresh and fruity Mediterranean rose from Thierry Boudinaud's family vineyard, and a bright red wine St Laurent from Austrian producer Walter Glat

177: Kritik und Leidenschaft - mit Frank Wonisch
Podcast-Gegenbesuch! Gut so! Fr

podcast· 39:58· Ep 379Not All Sangiovese Is Created Equal - Especially At Il Borro
We're back in Tuscany, in an area called Valdarno di Sopra; don't worry, we'll cover what that is and its importance. This week we are speaking to Salvatore Ferragamo - does that last name sound familiar? His family owns Il Borro a winery that currently makes Andre's favorite Sangiovese "that doesn't taste like any sangiovese I've ever had before." We explain that too. Lots to learn in this one, and we bring it all to you from the hills of Valdarno and the magic of imagination. If you close your eyes (if you can) this one will make you feel like you're actually in the hills, the wind blowing, you're looking over an ancient Borgo (small village) - and if you listen closely, you'll even know the time of day we recorded the interview. A big thank you to Stem Wine Group - https://www.stemwinegroup.com/ for getting us these great wines from this week's winery, Il Borro - https://www.ilborrowines.it/ You can email André at andre@andrewinereview.ca and follow him on Instagram here
