podcast· 1h 05m· S2E19The Glasshole Bistro: Making of a Wine List
Season 2 Episode 19 – The Glasshole Bistro: Making of a Wine List Friend of the show, Bill, asked Pete and VinoMike how they would go about making a wine list for their fictional restaurant – The Glasshole Bistro. Well, the guys took this opportunity to not only dive into how they would make a wine list but to give you insights into wine lists from the restaurant and customer perspectives. You know they can’t talk about wine without sipping a little. The guys popped the cork on a unique California wine from Field Recordings . The 2020 Field Recording Domo Arigato (Mr. Ramato) is a skin-contact Pinot Grigio. This makes the wine orange in color and completely delicious. If you are wondering if the guys get into the Styx song Mr. Roboto, you probably already know the answer. Let the hosts of That Wine Pod know what you think about this episode. They had a blast making this super-sized episode. Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for listening to That Wine Pod! Be sure to subscribe in your favor

Aflevering 14: Nederlandse wijn is fijn

Widow Astrid Strick and her adult children Elliot, Porter and Nicky figure out together how to grow into who they are while living in the fish bowl of a small town. When Astrid sees Barbara Baker get fatally hit by a school bus, she still carries the anger and shame of a secret (or lie) Barbara told years ago about her son kissing a boy. See the Stricks navigate single parenthood, infidelity, social climbing and adolescent troublemaking as they discover how to be a family. As the town is faced with August, a friend of Nicky’s daughter Cece, literally parading down the street as his alter-ego Robin in a dress, it opens the door for other characters to own who they truly are. This includes the shocking discovery of Birdie and Astrid’s relationship. It may take more than the bottle of wine Birdie brings to a Strick family dinner to sort all this drama out! Since we are on the subject of wine as a gift, we are cracking open a lovely bottle for sharing; a 2016 Pinot Noir Cuvee de Trois from

videoDane Cellars, Zinfandel, Los Chamizal Vineyards, Sonoma Valley, 2013 - Featured on The Wine Spies!
Dane Cellars brings us a Zinfandel for Zinfandel Lovers. This Gold Medal winning and 93 point wine is an intoxicating fruit bomb that impressed our Agents - especially the Zin-fanatics among us. If you're a fan of the grape, or want to see what all the fuss is about, this delightful Zin shows off the very best of what "California's grape" can do when properly handled by a skillful winemaker. This Zinfandel has a deep, dark crimson hue that is consistent to the very edge. The nose on this wine is intoxicating and intriguing, with notes of fresh ripe fig, creme caramel, brambles, potpourri, and quince. Wow! Once you tear yourself away from the bouquet and get around to sipping the wine, your palate is rewarded with butterscotch, blueberry, fig, vanilla, brown sugar, and cherry. This light-bodied Zinfandel has very approachable tannins that make this one an easy-drinker from start to finish. This wine is so tasty, and so fun, that it might be best paired with a bowl of seasoned popcorn a

podcast· 36:10· S2E18Put a Little Riesling in Your Life
Season 2 Episode 18 – Put a Little Riesling in Your Life Pete and VinoMike are ridiculously excited to talk about Riesling! Riesling is one of the six historical Noble Grapes, yet it is one of the most misunderstood. Great Riesling is not cloyingly sweet. It is balanced and nuanced with amazing acidity and very long aging potential. From bone-dry to wonderfully sweet, Riesling is rightfully a favorite of oenophiles all over the world. To talk through what makes Riesling so special, VinoMike shared a 2010 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett . Although 11 years old, this stunning white offered up fresh fruit, a kiss of honey, and incredible balance. Still youthful, this wine is proof of the fact that Riesling can snuggle up in your cellar for a very long time! Thank you for listening to That Wine Pod!
