Dan Barwick on Moving Back to England
Dan Barwick joins Steve Jaxon and Dan Berger on California Wine Country this week to talk about his impending return to England. He has been on CWC several times in recent years, the last time was this episode last August . He is one of the founders and the winemaker for Trecini Winery . They made their first Sauvignon Blanc in 1999. Dan has brought a New Zealand wine, a 2022 Babich Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. It cost $4.99 at Bottle Barn. It’s not a great wine but for $4.99 it’s fine. There’s no such thing as a terrible wine, as long as it’s reasonably priced enough. – Dan Berger. Dan was born in Dover, England and worked at Harrod’s London in the food hall where he saw a lot of wine. He moved to Sonoma in 1991 and has been making wine for thirty years. But he is moving back to England. They have a Chardonnay to taste, which is Russian River, 2022, barrel fermented in 500 liter neutral oak. It’s one of his favorite Chardonnays that he has ever made. The Wine Makers – Tie Dye Before the High
Live at The Vine Club in Atlanta with Kelly Cornett, Sam Coturri, Eric Crane, and Taylor Sublett. This episode was recorded live at The Vine Club in Atlanta, GA, the Tuesday evening before the annual High Museum Wine Auction, as a crossover episode with Kelly Cornett of The Cork and the Road Podcast. Sam was visiting Atlanta, and we threw a “Tie Dye Before the High” bottle share and vinyl party to celebrate a bunch of people who make the Atlanta wine community so vibrant. We sat down with Eric Crane, the Director of Training for Empire Distributors, and Taylor Sublett, the owner of The Vine Club, who hooked up his space for the party. Even though we are on Kelly’s turf, we brought the wine makers podcast style and had a great Atlanta time. Dig in for Eric Crane’s deep Grateful Dead knowledge, Taylor’s unique wine club rules, and Kelly’s trademark enthusiasm for all things wine and Atlanta related. podcast· 51:28· Ep 77IWP Ep77 Alejandro Fargosonini- Châteauneuf du Fargosonini
IWP Ep77 Alejandro Fargosonini- Châteauneuf du Fargosonini. Today were hearing from Alejandro of Châteauneuf du Fargosonini. We discuss his really exciting and cool new project focussed on wines from the vineyard he lives on as well upcycling other fruits that would otherwise go to waste. Alejandro was working his way around the Bay Area to taste different shops on the wines when he stopped by. I think you’ll get a good idea of the wines and project and thought process behind both. Some wines are made from Grenache but also plum, citrus, apricot and other fruits. Others are intentionally oxidized or cooked in the central valley sun. All the wines are super unique and could create really interesting pairing opportunities. Follow Alejandro at https://www.instagram.com/chateauneuf_du_fargosonini or find more info at the website https://www.chateauneuf.xyz/ Find the wines at Friend of a Friend SF, Bay Grape Oakland, Pinyon Ojai, Good Time Wine Bar San Jose, Aurora SF and DTC online very so
