podcast· 1h 06m· S8E9Season 8 - Episode 9 - Mike Etzel & Joe Dobbs
What happens when two legends of Oregon wine sit side by side and tell their stories? Pure magic. 🍷✨ In this week’s episode, we welcome Mike Etzel and Joe Dobbes—two iconic winemakers whose journeys are as inspiring as they are full-circle. Mike, who co-founded the legendary Beaux Frères, has since launched Sequitur, a project that reflects his return to thoughtful, small-scale winemaking. Joe, the founder of Dobbes Family Estate, has stepped into a new chapter with Iterum Wines, embracing the chance to begin again with fresh vision and renewed passion. Their conversation is an incredible reflection on going from old to new—building, growing, transitioning, and ultimately coming back to the heart of what they love most: crafting wines with soul and purpose. This interview is packed with laughter, storytelling, and insights that remind us all that sometimes the end of one chapter is just the beginning of something even better. Don’t miss this legendary conversation! 🎙️🍇

podcast· 45:57· Ep 442Redefining Wine Tourism: Intimate Journeys Beyond Typical Wine Country Tours
Enotoursim has been a staple in the tourism trade. One of my favorite podcast was with JoAnne Dupuy, the woman who delivered the wines from Napa to Steven Spurrier in Paris for the Judgement In Paris. She was the leading Enotourist company in America. As time would have it, Enotourism had seen its days, slumping a bit for the past decade...until now. Though wine sales are off and the wine industry is scurrying to define the cause of this slump, enotourism could save the day. Meet Bill Callejas, he is grassroots and has created an enotourism company from sheer passion. Bill Callejas didn't just stumble into wine tourism—he reverse-engineered it from the ground up, blending the precision of his production background with a storyteller's flair and an explorer's curiosity. You'll be hard pressed to find a more nuanced perspective on wine travel, or a more convincing case for ditching those cookie-cutter tours. In this episode, you'll discover the real difference between "just another wine
videoJaffe Estate 2017 Metamorphosis Cabernet Sauvignon, St. Helena, Napa Valley | Wine Expressed
Jaffe Family Wines was founded by Gary and Pam Jaffe. Today their daughter, Vida Jaffe has assumed the role of President of Jaffe Family Wines and oversees their marketing and sales and winemaking. Their original vineyard was located in the St. Helena Appellation almost on the border of the Rutherford Appellation. They purchased the estate in 1999 with vineyards that were already planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. For several years they sold the grapes to Corison Winery; in 2002 winemaker Cathy Corison made a small amount of Merlot from their vineyard but it was never sold commercially. This Jaffe Estate 2017 Metamorphosis Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning expression of the land, blending 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot. With a deep ruby color, and rich aromas of blackberry jam, boysenberry, and bittersweet chocolate, this wine is as brilliant as it is complex. 🍷 This wine is a true Napa gem, now available half-off winery price!
I would like to share with you in this video my thoughts about the business during my week spent in Hong Kong during this Asia Tour. I hope this could help to have a more proper view and what is the actual market situation there. Situation is not easy and still very difficult to increase eine business these days considerino the market situation of this 2024. podcast· 58:32· S7E78E78 - Quails' Gate Winery · Okanagan Valley, Canada
For Episode 78 of Read Between the Wines , we head to the Okanagan Valley to visit Quails' Gate, one of Canada's most iconic wineries. Host Pierre Ferland sits down with Rowan Stewart, who shares the story of his family's four generations of farming and their pioneering role in BC wine. From early Pinot Noir plantings to cutting-edge vineyard technology, Quails' Gate has always been a leader in shaping the region. But the past two years brought disaster. Back-to-back frost events wiped out almost the entire vineyard, erasing decades of work in just a few freezing nights. Instead of waiting for help, the Stewart family acted fast. They created Field and Flight , a bold project sourcing grapes from across the Pacific Northwest to keep their spirit alive. More than survival, it became a story of resilience and creativity. Rowan reflects on the land, the challenges of climate change, and the emotional side of winemaking. This episode is about more than vines and clones—it's about family, p
