Segovia, Spain. Complete guide to visiting Segovia, Spain
We finally made it to Segovia… and instantly regretted not coming sooner. From the towering Roman aqueduct to the storybook castle and plates of seriously good food, Segovia delivers at every turn. In this episode we tell you the best time of day to visit the aqueduct, and a secret vantage point, oh plus a fantastic rooftop bar to take in the stunning view at night. We also walk through the main street, through Plaza Mayor, past the cathedral to the Alcazar that inspired Disney's Cinderalla Castle. Of course there is a whole lot more to learn about Segovia in this episode, but if you want to see the interactive map with all the places we visited, and the fantastic photos (especially the aqueduct at night) then click here www.beachtravelwine.com/podcast/143/segovia

videoCan Wine Save The Planet Day 02 Troon Vineyard Applegate Valley Oregon
The Harvest shoot – well, sort of… Our first stop on our Harvest Shoot tour was to Troon in Southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley. Our first stop was Troon Vineyard & Farm in Southern Oregon’s Applegate Valley. This relatively small vineyard is Demeter Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Certified. They put their money where their mouth is when it comes to being beyond sustainable. Wine Enthusiast named them American Winery of the Year in 2022! We were heading up to shoot some B-roll and then get harvest shots. They plan their picks according to the biodynamic calendar, and September 30th had been scheduled. Of course, Mother Nature gets her say, also. While the grapes were saying they were ready, the weather forecast had a rainstorm heading in overnight on the 29th. While it would be dry on the morning of the 30th, the grapes would still be wet and likely would have absorbed enough water that the juice would be diluted. The rest of the weekend was predicted to be warmer and d

But it's not just size that makes it special. Les Riceys is the only village in Champagne that can legally produce all three of the region's appellations: AOP Champagne, AOP Coteaux Champenois, and the elusive AOP Rosé des Riceys. That alone should earn your attention.

Stephanie Short began drinking in elementary school. By the time she dropped out of high school in her junior year, her use had intensified, and so did the problems that came with it. Now, six years into recovery, she discusses how she got to a place of recovery and serenity. Stephanie is now a Certified Peer Specialist and Recovery Coach and the owner of Esares Wellness Services. The new light (and chillable) red wine paradigm
The 2023 Christina's Outlier, the Grenache-based Lodi grown red that now stands as the epitome of the new "light and chillable" red wine paradigm. Last week, Dr. Stephanie Bolton — Lodi Winegrape Commission ’s Director of Grower Education and Sustainability—organized what she called a “Light, Chillable Red Wine Rendezvous,” attended by a dozen an a half local vintners and growers. Why? Because Bolton truly believes this style of wine is the wave of the future, thus calling for serious discussion. In fact, some of the vintners who attended are already reporting market success with this style of red wine. It is an emerging wine category that may very well help drag the American wine industry out of its current state of doldrums. Cinsaut—a quintessential style of light, chillable red, especially in Lodi. Generally speaking, it is not highly recommended that you thoroughly chill bottles of red wine because of one of the the major components found i

CASE 0513: How Many Heights Could a Wuthering Heights Wuther If a Wuthering Heights Could Wuther Heights?
DEFENDANT: Emily Brontë EVIDENCE: Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon "Katherine" 2023 SCENE OF THE CRIME: The wild moors of Alexander Valley, Sonoma, CA -- Hey — settle in with a bowl of soup and a good glass, because this episode is equal parts wine tasting and literary sleuthing. We pop a bottle of Goldschmidt’s “Catherine” from Stonemason Hill in Alexander Valley (Sonoma), sniff out garnet color, black cherry and red‑plum fruit, a blueberry peak of ripeness, and a lovely stone‑like minerality with velvety tannins. It’s approachable, not pretentious, and sits in that sweet spot around $40 — perfect to bring to dinner or enjoy on a stormy night with friends (and a dog wedged between you). Then we tumble headfirst into Wuthering Heights: Emily Brontë’s 1847 Gothic whirlwind of obsession, class friction, and moor‑bound drama. We talk about Emily’s short, wild life, the Brontë family dynamics, the book’s thorny questions (are Catherine and Heathcliff half‑siblings? are they in love or simply
