videoTHE RUNNING MAN (1987) Paired With Love and Hate
With the brand new Edgar Wright re-adaptation about to drop on Friday, we decided to revisit the OG 1987 movie, itself an adaptation of the “Richard Bachman” novel, itself the pseudonym that Stephen King wrote his non-horror novels under, something he managed to keep secret for over a decade and hysterically the person who secured the movie rights to the book had no idea it was King!!! We deep dive into this history, then talk at length about the movie’s themes and whether or not they resonate today (we did NOT agree on this point!) A man falsely accused of crimes forced to fend for his life on a televised game show where the stakes are life and death all for the entertainment of the passive masses…that sure sounds pretty resonate today, doesn’t it? And in broad strokes, it absolutely is. But the devil is in them details. 0:00 Bumper / Opening 1:57 Wine Trivia Question of the Week 3:07 Richard Bachman / Stephen King 7:32 George Linder and The Running Man 11:29 Screenwriter Steven E

podcast· 8:28033 People lie about how much they drink (& why it doesn't matter)
Sarah discusses how people often underreport their alcohol consumption, with the common belief that individuals drink at least double what they admit to. She reflects on her experiences as a student nurse seeing patients with severe alcohol-related health issues. Sarah shares how her views have evolved, noting that the focus should be on how alcohol makes someone feel rather than just the quantity consumed. She emphasizes the importance of understanding one's personal relationship with alcohol, especially for "gray area drinkers" who may experience negative impacts from relatively moderate consumption.| Sarah encourages the listener to reflect on how their drinking makes them feel, rather than just the amount. She shares examples of women in her programs who struggled with the impacts of even a small amount of alcohol. She invites the listener to explore her " I Quit Wine Freedom Formula " program to address their relationship with alcohol. https://iquitwine.com/iqwff/ Sarah invites th

Ep 162: Wine Country for Everyone: Family Friendly Wineries – Featuring Glunz Family Winery | Dark Star Cellars
🍇 Where Wine Takes You – Episode Highlights 🍷 In this episode of Where Wine Takes You , Adam Montiel sits down with Michael Emlie of Dark Star Cellars and brothers Matt and Steve Glunz of Glunz Family Winery & Cellars for a conversation about something Paso Robles does especially well, family-friendly wine country. Recorded at Lobro Studios, the conversation flows the way great wine conversations should, with glasses on the table, stories in the air, and a few laughs along the way. Michael Emlie shares the classic Paso story of how a longtime Los Angeles attorney fell in love with Paso Robles while visiting for Wine Fest and eventually traded courtrooms for barrels when he purchased Dark Star Cellars. Over a decade later, Dark Star remains one of Paso’s most relaxed and welcoming spots, a place where guests can enjoy great wine while kids, dogs, and friends all feel right at home. Adam is also joined by Matt and Steve Glunz, part of a family wine legacy that stretches back to 1888 Ch

podcast· 3:07PORTO TAWNY: ENTENDA O ESTILO MAIS DIDÁTICO DO VINHO DO PORTO
videoPetit Sauvage Blanc and Rouge Review | Natural Wine and Resistant Grapes with Antonin Bonnet
This week we sat down with Antonin Bonnet from Pierre and Antonin in the south of France for an eye opening episode. Antonin is a natural winemaker and he pulled back the curtain on how he and his partner Pierre think about and make wine without all the scary stuff people usually associate with natural bottles. We got into his wild start in New York, how he and Pierre built their winery from scratch, and why resistant grape varieties might be the future. Colin finally owned his natural wine skepticism, Joel showed up mid-diaper-chaos, and Antonin kept dropping gems while pouring wines that shook up our expectations. If you’ve ever been curious about natural wine or flat out opposed to it, this episode might flip your perspective. Grab a glass, hit play, and get ready to think about wine in a new way.
