videoThe Best Cava I've Ever Had (Spanish Wine Tasting)
Six wines, one country, and we have to guess where they're from. Spoiler: we were way off, and these wines were way better than expected. Spain is maybe the largest wine-producing country in the world, but it often flies under the radar compared to France, Italy, and Germany. Today we're tasting six Spanish wines completely blind to see if we can identify them—and more importantly, if they're any good. What we tasted: Six wines ranging from sparkling to orange to red. The styles were all over the place, which made guessing the country incredibly difficult. Our guesses: Brendan: Italy Noah: France Henry: China (seriously) The reality: Spain. All of them. The Verdict: These are probably the most compelling Spanish wines we've had on the show. That Cava? Game-changing. The Priorat wines? Spectacular. The budget reds? Incredible value. Key Moments: Henry thinking it was China imitating France "Burger rings" and "wheat bix" aroma descriptors for Comando G Discovering the best Cava we

videoSaffron Fields Spectrum Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2021 | The Clone Wars w/ Adam Wolf!
Adam Wolf is back, and he brings a whole new story with him. Since his last visit, he packed up his life in LA and moved to Oregon’s Willamette Valley to work at Saffron Fields. We talk about that jump, what pulled him into the region, and how different the wine world feels when you live inside it instead of tasting from a distance. Adam walks us through his new role, the tasting room culture, and why Oregon’s wine community feels so supportive. We get into the local food scene, the shift from LA’s global wine focus to Oregon’s drink-local mentality, and what it’s like to taste in a place with more than 800 wineries. He also sends us a bottle of the 2021 Spectrum Pinot Noir, an entry point into Saffron Fields’ lineup. We dig into what makes it approachable, how the winemaking works, and why clones matter so much in the Willamette Valley. The conversation takes us into tasting structure, flavor differences, and the challenge of keeping your palate alive after 15 Pinots in two days. I

podcast· 37:08· Ep 402The New Sagrantino di Montefalco
Sangrantino, heard of it? It's a wine that has the ultimate tannin punch and can take decades to resolve itself (make it ready to drink) ... but hold on. There's a new wave of winemakers in the region, fronted by women, who are learning to show the softer side, the more approachable side of this wine. Could Sagrantino be drinkable sooner - are we looking at a renaissance in Umbrian wine. Michael interviews the women (and one man) from three wineries to discuss what the heck is going on. Then, André and Michael discuss what this could all mean - plus we open an old bottle of Sagrantino, is it ready?
