Whether it's shifting your relationship with alcohol, your career, or any part of your life, the key isn’t figuring it out—it’s finding out by loosening your grip and stepping into curiosity. I share personal updates on balancing my online work with the new life my family and I are building on our farm. I also reflect on how resistance shows up when we’re being called to something new and how sometimes, we need to let go of “the way things have always been” to allow something even better to emerge. With the arrival of Lent, Venus retrograde, and the shift into spring, this is an invitation to pause, empty out, and make space for what’s truly calling you. Key Takeaways: 🌿 Your next evolution is already calling—you just have to listen. 🌿 FOMO isn’t real when you’ve already experienced something. What if you stopped holding on so tightly? 🌿 Loo

podcast· 15:02170. Feeling Like a Grown-Up
What if the way we think about drinking and adulthood is completely backward? In this episode, we’re unpacking the belief that having a drink makes us feel “grown-up”—and revealing why that might not be true at all. Is it really a mark of maturity to pour a glass of wine just because it’s Friday, or because the restaurant is chaotic, or because “we can”? Or is that actually our inner toddler demanding instant gratification? We’ll explore how responding to cravings isn’t as sophisticated as it seems—and what actually gives us that powerful, in-control feeling of adulthood. But here’s the twist: what if choosing water, or simply drinking with intention, is the most grown-up move of all? We’ll break down why true empowerment comes from making conscious decisions—whether that means drinking mindfully or skipping it altogether. If you’ve ever wondered whether alcohol is really the key to feeling like an adult, or if there’s a better way to own your choices, this episode is for you. Tune in

videoA-Z of of Wine – 'H' is for 'Hybrid Grapes'.
We explore how hybrid grapes (sometimes known as PiWis) have opened up entirely new wine regions – in this case, as far north in cool England as Lincolnshire... which has pretty much no right to be able to make decent wine... but the times they are a-changing! Wressle Vineyard, a small family-owned vineyard in the village of Wressle, is using both Vinifera and hybrid grapes to work around their climate and to make really accessible, quality wines. So... What is 'Sozzled Squirrel'? Why is it called that? What is 'Muscaris' and do we like it? Time to get tasting! Is this your first Muscaris wine?? Can you believe this was grown in Lincolnshire?? For us, this was one of the real surprises of the whole tasting! Buy this wine directly from the vineyard here: https://wresslevineyard.com/products/sozzled-squirrel-2024

Beat the Heat: Why Lodi's Delta Breeze Makes Summer Wine Tasting Magical
Morning light illuminates Lodi's picturesque vineyards, where Mediterranean climate and Delta Breeze cooling create distinctive terroir for exceptional winegrowing. Summer in Lodi delivers classic California sunshine – those bright, warm days that ripen grapes to perfection and send wine lovers seeking shade. But here's Lodi's secret weapon: the Delta Breeze. Every day beginning in the late afternoon, cool air travels inland from the San Francisco Bay, following a vast network of waterways that play a key role in defining the wine country’s climate and character. The breezes intensify through the early evening, and typically dissipate in the hours following sunset. It's nature's daily reset button, and the same cooling wind that creates Lodi's distinctive wines also creates some of California's most enjoyable summer experiences. Smart Summer Timing for Maximum Comfort The beauty of understanding Lodi's daily rhythm is that it makes trip planning almost eff

Ep 164: Exploring the Creston District Sub AVA – Featuring Ella’s Vineyard | Defiance Vineyard
🍇 Where Wine Takes You – Episode Highlights 🍷 In this episode of Where Wine Takes You , Adam heads east into one of Paso Robles’ most quietly compelling sub-AVAs, the Creston District. It’s a place that doesn’t shout for attention, but once you find it, it sticks with you. Adam sits down with Erin Faulkner , co-owner of Defiance Vineyard , and Josh Morris , owner and winemaker of Ella’s Vineyard , two producers carving out their own identities in a part of Paso defined by elevation, wind, and independence. Erin shares the story behind Defiance, a true family-built operation that started from raw land and evolved into a Bordeaux-focused program rooted in intention and individuality. Josh brings a different lens with Ella’s Vineyard, leaning into Italian varietals, concrete fermentation, and a hospitality-driven experience that reflects both precision and personality. Together, the conversation dives into what makes Creston different, not just in terroir, but in mindset. A place where
video3 Reasons to Swirl Wine
Why exactly do we swirl wine all the time? Glad you asked... 🍷 𝗜𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗲. Oxygen allows aroma compounds to become more detectable and helps soften harsh tannins. You want to swirl most wines, but older vintage pours are more delicate and thus might become overoxidized. 𝗜𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳-𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀. Some wines contain sulfites, which can create odors of burnt matches or rotten eggs. Some swirling can dissipate those malodors. 𝗔 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹. By stretching the liquid across the glass, you can better analyze a wine's color and viscosity. Swirling also leaves behind "legs" on the glass, which can glean insight into a wine's level of alcohol.
