Why RTDs Have a 3 Year Shelf Life and What It Means for Retailers
Ready-to-Drink (RTD) beverages are built for the realities of modern retail. Unlike beer, which typically peaks within 9 to 12 months, RTDs remain stable for 24 to 36 months without losing flavor or quality. This long shelf life is not just a technical detail. It is a strategic advantage for retailers and importers. Longer dating means fewer product write-offs, more flexible logistics, and stronger profit margins. Consumers also benefit from consistent taste, portable packaging, and the reassurance that their purchase is dependable. In this article, we explore why RTDs last so long, the science behind their 3 year shelf life, and how businesses can leverage this advantage to reduce risk and capture new opportunities.

WeatherEye Vineyard & MTN/ART Wines
Ryan Johnson of WeatherEye Vineyard & MTN/ART Wines Ryan Johnson grew up making mischief with his art supplies. He excelled in art at school, and ended up majoring in it while at community college. Although he eventually shifted to a pre-med track with the goal of becoming an eye doctor, he has always turned to art as a form of self-expression. Just before enrolling in his pre-med classes in anatomy and physiology, a phone call changed his life. The caller was Jim Holmes, owner of Ciel du Cheval Vineyard on Red Mountain. He invited Ryan for a tour of the vineyard, and after driving around, he stopped his truck and asked Ryan to be his vineyard manager. That was the start of Ryan’s career on Red Mountain, which now spans roughly 25 years and multiple premier vineyards. The most recent is WeatherEye Vineyard , which some have called the most ambitious vineyard in the United States. The idea for WeatherEye began in 2004 when Cameron Myhrvold start

Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Environmental Advocate of the Year Award
“ Environmental Advocate of the Year Craig Camp Troon Vineyard | Grants Pass, OR In 2016, Craig Camp left his job in the Napa Valley and moved north to Oregon’s Applegate Valley, a quiet area near the California border. Under the Regenerative Organic Alliance’s mantra “farm like the world depends on it,” Camp cares for cider apples, hay fields, honey bees, sheep, chickens, dogs, and grape vines. Camp and the Troon Vineyard team are reviving old, overworked vineyards to make an example out of what responsible agriculture can produce, work that has earned Troon the title of the world’s only Demeter Biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Certified Gold winery. Camp’s deep commitment to fighting climate change extends to advocacy—he’s a member of the board of directors at the Biodynamic Demeter Alliance. ” — The Wine Enthusiast The Wine Enthusiast Wine Star Awards 2025 - click here for the complete list of nominees I could not be more honored to be nominated for the new Wine Enthusiast
