Reading Time: 7 minutes Portugal exceeded every expectation. Over two weeks, my son and I explored Lisbon, Sintra, Nazaré, Fátima, Porto, the Douro Valley and Óbidos, discovering spectacular vineyards, unforgettable dining, historic cities and some of the world’s most compelling wines. From Port tastings at Cockburn’s and Sandeman to an extraordinary meal at DOC overlooking the Douro River, Portugal proved to be far more than a wine destination—it is a country where wine, culture, history and hospitality come together in remarkable fashion.
