podcast· 1h 07m· Ep 7171. Sorrento and Isle of Capri. Travel to Sorrento and visit the Isle of Capri on the Amalfi Coast, Italy.
As promised today we are taking you to one of – if not the most spectacular places in Italy. Sorrento and the Isle of Capri. We are on days 4 and 5 of our small group tour from Rome to Amalfi with Intrepid Travel. We are loving the tour, especially the relaxing nature of this trip – no early starts, no rushing, and time to explore on your own, if you want to. In this episode we will take you walking through the gorgeous streets of Sorrento, through the piazzas and bustling shopping areas full of cafes, bars and restaurants. Next we go to the most atmospheric, beautiful restaurant, dining under the twinkling lights in the lemon trees of a citrus orchard. One of our favourite days in Italy was taking a private boat to the Isle of Capri. Luca our guide arranged this for us – as it was an optional excursion – and it was magical. The sparkling blue water, jumping off the boat to swim in the Mediterranean, the views at the top of the Isle of Capri, and then singing and enjoying our trip all

podcast· 48:21· Ep 27IWP Ep27 Ed Kurtzman - Sandler, August West, Mansfield-Dunne
IWP Ep27 Ed Kurtzman - Sandler, August West, Mansfield-Dunne. I recently sat down with Ed Kurtzman of Sandler wines, August West and Mansfield- Dunne wines to talk about his long and distinguished career in California wine. Besides the 3 wineries I already named he’s made wine for Roar, Testarossa, Freeman and Fort Ross. He produces much of his wine out of the August West facility in San Francisco which also hosts other labels and winemakers working out of the facility. Ed is super knowledgeable about wine and noticed in about 2 seconds that the carpet in the lobby of the studio was corked. We discuss how he got his start and going off on his own as a consultant, how he likes to treat Pinot Noir and the other grapes he works with or would like to work with. podcast· 54:59#123 Stille wijnen van de Douro

podcast· 52:51· Ep 73A love affair with Rhone varieties - Kim and Todd Engelhardt of Lion Ranch Vineyards Ep. 73
Sip Sip Hooray for Rhone wine varieties! Our guests today are a husband and wife winemaking team, working and living in California's Santa Clara Valley. This is a historic winemaking region, dating back to the 1798, but Kim and Todd Engelhardt are adding their own chapter to the story, buying property and planting vineyards on land that, in the late 1880s, was known as Lion Ranch. The Engelhardts went all in on Rhone wine varietals - and their honeymoon in the Rhone Valley sealed the deal. They visited Condrieu - where only Viognier is made - and fell in love with it. But they didn't just buy and drink Viognier - they built a wine business - Lion Ranch Vineyards & Winery - around it. Now, with wines names like Lioness, Lion's Share and Alpha, this winery roars. Todd, an emergency room physician by night, handles organic farming, and the duo is moving into regenerative farming, along with incorporating Baby Doll sheep and bees into their ecosystem. Kim overseas the winery operations, sa
