2021 Vintage Summary: Love Thy Neighbor
It has been more than a year since I last wrote to the club. Focused entirely on the logistics of keeping our staff healthy and employed, I had lost the ability to concentrate or convey a coherent story, even a summary of the 2020 vintage. But now the 2021 harvest is over, and the wines are aging. So, it is time to reflect on what has happened and what it means and to uncover the more significant lessons from the vintage.

Historical Episode IWP Ep59 The California Wine Association (CWA) - Part 4 - The Calamity Edition. Today is part 4 in my series on the California Wine Association. “The Calamity Edition” Last time we saw the CWA gobble up their competitors after the end of the wine wars. They absorbed wineries, vineyards and wine houses. When they couldn’t purchase the entire company, they would get half. Allowing companies to operate with the veil of independence would keep the antitrust folks away. It was all fair game and they came out with control of over 2/3rds of the wine in the state. Today we see how they do in a battle against mother nature. Follow the podcast at www.instagram.com/indiewinepodcast or email indiewinepodcast@gmail.com with questions, comments or feedback. podcast· 4:47Comment reconnaître un faux amateur de vin lors d'un dîner ?
Anzeige Zu Gast heute Janek Schumann.

The Truth about Fine Wine
Fine wine. What does that really mean? The truth is, as words, they don’t mean much. There is no official classification system for the title “fine wine.” It’s not like the regulated usage of “Premier Cru” or “Grand Cru Classé,” for example, rather anyone can throw it out there and see if it sticks. However, […]
