podcast· 12:31The Real Wine Show 10 Minutes, 10 Questions w/ Francesca Ciacci of Tenuta di Sesta
Francesca, along with her husband Danilo and her brother Andrea, are now at the helm of their historic, family estate in Montalcino, Tenuta di Sesta. As one of the first, twelve wineries to make Brunello di Montalcino, there is a sense of gravity or seriousness in Francesca's wines, which pay more than a nod to tradition while also offering a distinctly modern sense of approachability and finesse. Similarly, Francesca herself is gracious and charming, and totally without pretense, so she can take our sometimes inconsequential questions and imbue them with real meaning, making this 10 Minutes 10 Questions a real joy to listen to. Thanks for joining us!

podcast· 47:47· S1E154Special Episode! Meet the (Wine) Makers #13: Vince Vidrine of Cowhorn Vineyard and Morgan Beck of Johan Vineyards (Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon)
If you love Oregon wines and biodynamic wines, we have a treat for you! And, if you think you know Oregon wines, this episode is a must listen. Did you know that there are two major wine growing regions in Oregon? It’s true! Most people think about the Willamette Valley, which is where our guest Morgan Beck is making beautiful Burgundy style wines for Johan Vineyards. But we bet you don’t know that in Southern Oregon, where the climate and soils are much different, there are people like our other guest Vince Vidrine making beautiful Rhône Valley style wines, like GSM and Viognier, and Vince makes these wines for Cowhorn Vineyard and Garden. Both of these winemakers are focusing on biodynamic wines - which in essence means they let the grapes and the juice and the specific weather and growing conditions each year tell them how the wines should be made each year. And it also means that they try and do less in the cellar and be more proactive in the vineyard. This was an amazing conversat

Robb was always motivated by music and he lets “…Patti Smith explain the rest.” Ross has also been working with Les Claypool’s Pachyderm Wines They start by tasting the Cobb Wines Riesling, from a 14-15 acre vineyard at a high elevation. It is officially the smallest appellation in America. The soil is limestone, at 1200 feet. It is the last of the Sonoma Coast vineyards that he picks every year. The fermentation is long and slow. He just tasted his 2024 vintage, which began last Fall, so even that step comes late with this wine. It is balanced between fruit and alcohol. How about some sushi? Fresh oysters? Fresh Dun

The Wine Makers – Isabel Gassier & Phil Coturri, “Á Deux Têtes” Release
This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with winemaker Isabel Gassier and viticulturist Phil Coturri to discuss their collaborative project, À Deux Têtes , which began in 2017 with the late, renowned French winemaker Philippe Cambie. Isabel has been crafting wine simultaneously at her family’s Domaine Gassier in France and Sonoma’s Winery Sixteen600, where all the grapes are organically farmed under Phil’s care. Together, Phil and Isabel share insights into their approach and decisions for the challenging 2022 vintage. They discuss the new releases of Oakville and Rossi Ranch Grenache, as well as the 2023 Rosé of Grenache, offering a rare glimpse into the collaboration between grower and winemaker. podcast· 26:28· S5E620 Divin #75 Les briseurs de rêve, prétexte à une belle dégustation
