podcast· 1h 21m· S3E5Wine Pros Discuss & Taste: BORDEAUX vs BURGUNDY (with Andrew Jefford & Aigars Nords)
I sat down with Andrew Jefford (wine writer & columnist) and Aigards Nords (organizer of @RigaWineChampagne ) to discuss one of wine’s great rivalries: Bordeaux vs. Burgundy. We talk why these regions are so often compared, what really separates them in the glass, and how ideas like terroir vs. estate shape the way we talk about them. We also look at the bigger forces behind the bottles - pricing and value, shifting consumer demand vs. wine-list trends and what might be next for both regions.Be sure to check out Andrew Jefford's latest book 📕 Drinking with the Valkyries: https://amzn.to/45mGBOGI highly recommend visiting one of the Riga Wine & Champagne events, organized by Aigars Nords in Riga each year. F/W 24′ Checking In: Morét Brealynn
A common theme about her wines is that Morét seems to be happening into these phenomenal outcomes. In her third vintage, frankly, I’m seeing through the humility. The exceptional wine is no fluke or beginner’s luck, at least anymore. The post F/W 24′ Checking In: Morét Brealynn first appeared on Good Vitis .

podcast· 49:50· S1E198The Best & Worst Wines We Drank in 2025!
Welcome to our very own version of Spotify Wrapped! In this episode, we review the best and worst wines we drank this year, and share with you why we thought they were so good or so bad. In 2025 we drank 80 wines from 12 different countries and 3 different states in the US, interviewed 8 winemakers from all over the world, and released 5 minisodes on a variety of subjects. Listen in to learn about how many downloads we got this year, in how many countries our podcast was downloaded in, and how much money we spent on wine for the podcast this year. That’s right, we buy all of our own wine, we do not accept wines sent to us from wineries or distributors because it is really important that we share real, honest reviews with you and help you to find authentically good wines - or avoid bad wines - that are reasonably priced. It’s just what we do! You’ll hear excerpts from episodes where we rated our top 5 and bottom 5 wines, some of which are pretty darn funny! Thank you all for a fantastic

Dining Out in 2024: A milestone
A mostly fictional account of visiting a franchise restaurant It was a confluence of unfortunate circumstances and bad judgement that led me to taking a three year-old to a suburban mall the week after Christmas. There were things to return, a late gift to pick up, and we were catching an afternoon movie nearby. “It’ll … Continue reading Dining Out in 2024: A milestone →

Als Spezialgast dabei in Folge zwei: T&A Boss Willi Schlögl. Frohes Fest! videoBlind Master Cicerone Beer Style Panel Practice Run
A small but exciting part of the Master Cicerone exam is the Beer Style panel. Blind tasting is REALLY HARD. On the #CertifiedCicerone exam you get two answer options for each beer (a fifty fifty shot!). On the #AdvancedCicerone exam you get 4 answer options for each (it usually comes down to two similar options). You get more samples and no answer options on the #MasterCicerone exam. For an MC level panel, you have 15 minutes to sniff, sip, and figure out what 7 beers are. Each sample is a good
