Kobayashi
Here are the founders, Mario and Travis Allen, of Kobayashi. It is my pleasure to write about one of the most electric wine brands of the Pacific Northwest. Kobayashi is a jewel of Washington, founded by Mario and Travis Allen. I have known this couple now for more than a decade and they are some of the great people in Washington wine. Travis Allen is doing some incredible things with his lineup. You are going to be blown away with the 2023 ‘Mizanura’ Cabernet Franc (OB, 100) which is now the second time I have tasted this beauty. Sleek, elegant and seamless throughout the drinking experience, this is quite simply a must-buy for any serious collector of Washington wine. Learn more at https://kobayashiwinery.com and here are my reviews of the sensational new wines by Kobayashi winery. 2023 Kobayashi ‘Mizunara’ Cabernet Franc- This is now the second time that I have reviewed the unforgettable 2023 ‘Mizunara’ which was sourced from old vine Cabernet Franc at the Red Willow Vineyard.

Selling sunshine
The UK’s thirst for bubbles is legendary, but while Prosecco dominates the volume and Champagne sits at the prestige peak, a "healthy middle" has emerged – and South Africa’s Cap Classique is perfectly positioned to claim it.

Tales of Kosher Alcohol
Wine is wine, right? So is whiskey, tequila, vodka, rum, and all the other liquors, do you agree? Leaving cost aside, when choosing alcohol, your typical selection categories are “sustainable”, “organic”, “vegan”, “artisanal”, “biodynamic”, plus all the “certified” categories. And then there is a world of kosher, which trumpets all of those. I’m sure many […]

How to Choose Italian Wine in a Supermarket
Supermarket wine aisles are designed to make you feel stupid. I’m fairly convinced of it. Fifty bottles you can’t pronounce. DOC, DOCG, and IGT stamped everywhere like the wine sat an exam. Gold medal stickers stacked three deep, as if the bottle just came home from the Olympics. Prices ranging... MenoDodicIGP: Philippe De Charmille - Cremant de Loire Brut (Magnum)
