podcast· 48:32· S1E42042 Finding Freedom: A Conversation with Sober Coach Gillian
In this episode, I chat with Gillian Cockburn , a sober coach who’s been alcohol-free for over five years. Her story is such a powerful example of what’s possible when you decide to question your relationship with alcohol — and choose a different path. Gillian stopped drinking on May 6th, 2020 , after years of knowing something wasn’t quite right. She shared how she used to hide her drinking, even from those closest to her, and how she often felt empty and disconnected in her early 40s. Like so many of us, she was using alcohol to numb uncomfortable feelings and get through the day. What really helped her turn things around was doing deep thought work and mindset coaching — learning to change the way she thought about herself, her emotions, and alcohol. That shift gave her the tools to maintain her sobriety and create a much more vibrant, peaceful life. We also talked about how cultural and marketing influences have played such a big role in normalising drinking, especially for women.

videoRed Wine Consumer Value: France’s Southern Rhone Valley
David Kohl believes that France’s Southern Rhone Valley provides wine consumers with fertile ground for value hunting. Today’s selection retails in the $15 range as a blend of Grenache & Syrah produced in the appellation “ Côtes du Rhône Villages”. A peppery + juicy offering with influences from neighboring Provence, this wine demonstrates why consumers don’t need to spend big to obtain top value. #winepodcast #winelover #cotesdurhonevillages #rhonevalley #southernrhonewines #grenache #redwine
videoChateau Tronquoy Wine Estate in Bordeaux’s St. Estephe Region
David Kohl highlights Chateau Tronquoy, an “under the radar” gem from Bordeaux’s St. Estephe region that was purchased about 20 years ago by Martin + Olivier Buoygues who also own grand cru classe estate Chateau Montrose. The Buoygues brothers added tremendous value to Chateau Tronquoy by undertaking a 10 million euro renovation + assigning the winemaking team from Chateau Montrose to handle production. As a cru bourgeois vineyard with selections priced under $40, Chateau Tronquoy delivers quality beyond expectation. #winepodcast #chateautronquoy #bordeauxlover #bordeauxwine

Why Your Stout Tastes Thin (And How to Fix It)
Why your stout tastes thin is one of the most common questions brewers ask when working with dark beers. The beer looks dark, smells roasty, and pours like a stout should — but when you taste it, it feels watery, sharp, or hollow. A good stout should be comforting, full-bodied, and smooth. It should coat… Read More » Why Your Stout Tastes Thin (And How to Fix It) The post Why Your Stout Tastes Thin (And How to Fix It) appeared first on Get Er Brewed Blog .
