Here is the secret to finding insane Bordeaux value. 🍷👇 Video Topic: How to find high-value Bordeaux wines that outperform expensive, world-famous "Grand Cru" labels. videoWine Interview: Mariano Buglioni of Cantina Buglioni | Big Barrels, Bold Ideas!
A winemaker challenges Amarone tradition and flips the script. Mariano Buglioni shares how his Il Lussurioso Amarone from Buglioni in Valpolicella Classico (15.5% ABV) is intentionally made to be more drinkable, food-friendly, and approachable. Instead of heavy, overpowering styles, Buglioni shifted away from barrique aging to large casks and adjusted grape drying to reduce sugar and alcohol intensity. The result is an Amarone designed for a second glass, not just a single sip. The conversation

But not all big wines are created equal. Aaron Jackson is one of those under-the-radar winemakers who understands how to harness Paso Robles power without losing balance. He works with top vineyard sites across the West Side, crafting serious wines that often compete with bottles priced far higher. And then there’s this. The Aaron Wines “Kuhl” 2023 is essentially a bleed-off selection from his top-tier barrels. That means fruit originally destined for wines in the $50 range ends up here. Not because it wasn’t good enough. Because there was simply too much great fruit in a vintage like 2023. The blend tells the story. 45 percent Petite Sirah, 30 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25 percent Syrah, sourced from serious
podcast· 51:19· Ep 522Bringing Georgia to Your Glass: Mallory Tsipouria's Journey Promoting Ancient Wines in the US
Georgian wines have been around...well, I suppose over 6000 years. In fact, it is a disputed fact between the Armenians and the Georgians as to which country made wine first. The best analysis I can come up with is that 6100 years ago, when what is now called Areni 1 Cave located in Armenia was established, there was no Georgia and there was no Armenia, but regardless, the disageement lives on. Georgian wines have been in the US since I can remember. At least since the '80's. And back then they carried a pecular, indigenous character; earthy, ozidized and cloudy. That has all changed but the history. A politician turned wine guy is trying to change the perception of Georgian wine...Melory Tsipouria. Listen to him tell his story. When I first sat down with Mallory Zippor, I realized he wasn't just a guest—he was a force of nature. Imagine a man who's fought for his country's democracy, worked in Congress, and now deploys that same relentless spirit to put Georgian wine on the American m

Guinness World Records Crowns 328-Year-Old Bottle as World’s Oldest Cognac
The appeal of vintage spirits, or “dusties” is two-fold. They function as a time capsule, offering a tangible view into another era of distilled spirits, but there’s also the exclusivity element. Once a dusty’s gone, there’s a slim chance that you’ll find another one just like it. And on August 11, the Guinness World Records association officially recognized what is possibly the mother of all vintage spirits: a bottle of 1696 Jules Robin Cognac owned by Cognac collector Lars Janssen in the Netherlands.
