videoHow to drink $1,000 Bordeaux for $50
In 1855, Bordeaux ranked 61 luxury wine estates without tasting a single bottle. Discover why the classification is history, not a guarantee of quality. What questions does this video answer? How was the 1855 Bordeaux classification created? Why did brokers rank châteaux based purely on market prices instead of tastings? What is the difference between Left Bank gravel and Right Bank clay? Which estate was the only wine ever promoted in 1855 classification history? How can you buy elite Bordeaux terroir without paying four-figure trophy prices? About This Video: In 1855, Bordeaux brokers drafted the most famous wine list in history—and they did it without tasting a single bottle. Commissioned by Emperor Napoleon III for the Paris Universal Exposition, brokers simply ranked 61 Left Bank red wine estates into five tiers based strictly on their historical market prices. In over 170 years, that list has barely budged, with only one estate ever earning a promotion: Château Mouton Roth

Diageo LE Mega-lineup
We’ve worked with a ton of brands over the years, but Diageo was a tough nut to crack as we couldn’t get a consistent contact to work with. Diageo distilleries showed up frequently in our line-ups as independently bottled expressions, but never OBs. We picked up a bunch of LEs from a local collector and decided we’d just run an event on our own without … The post Diageo LE Mega-lineup appeared first on Toronto Whisky Society .

A Tour of Wine Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc (Part 1)
Sauvignon Blanc 🥂 Photo by Nathan on Wikimedia Commons The name originates from the French words sauvage ("wild") and vigne ("vine"). Native to western France, written records document its cultivation in the Loire Valley and Bordeaux by the 18th century. It is a natural cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc grapes. Today, winemakers grow it throughout the world. France produces lean, high-acid styles, while New Zealand's Marlborough region focuses on highly aromatic, pungent styles. California produces both crisp styles and barrel-aged varieties, while Chile, South Africa, and South Australia also maintain significant commercial production. Sauvignon Blanc wines have notes of green grass, lime, and green bell pepper. Warmer climates yield tropical fruit profiles like passion fruit and peach. On the palate, it is a dry wine with a light body and bright acidity. Winemakers use two main methods: unoaked (fermented in stainless steel to preserve fruit and acidity) and oaked (ag

Coca-Cola to Replace Pepsi Across Marriott Hotels Worldwide, Ending 34-Year Partnership
The Coca-Cola Company will replace PepsiCo as the beverage provider for Marriott International, following an agreement between the beverage giant and massive hotel chain, Atlanta News First reports. The deal will exchange all Pepsi products for its direct competitor’s beverages in all of Marriott’s lobby bars, mini-markets, and mini-fridges worldwide. Syrah and Cab Franc are his specialties but Zin, other Bordeaux grapes and some white wines are made also. I hope you enjoy our conversation.
