Das Weingut Esterhazy im Burgenland macht Wein seit 1612. Aber erst (!) seit 1758 machen sie es richtig - sagt zumindest Frank Schindler, der Chef. Denn auf dieses Datum lässt sich der Beginn der Qualitätsweinproduktion in der Region festlegen, mit dem Import eines Kellermeisters aus, na, ahnt ihr es? Genau, dem Burgund. Der zweite bahnbrechende Import von Talent fand 2019 statt, als Frank als Geschäftsführer und der Südafrikaner Robert Krammer als Kellermeister an Bord kamen. Zusammen hat man jeden Stein umgedreht, Flächen stillgelegt und die Zahl der Weine im Programm von 47 auf 20 reduziert (mit Reduktion ist hier NICHT Streichholzgeruch gemeint). Das ganze passiert mit mehr revolutionärem Drive als bei Mao und Lenin, denn statt Fünfjahres- gibt es bei Esterhazy den Dreijahresplan. Willi ist alles in allem schwerstens begeistert - warum?
