Review: Oaklore Story Series 2026 – Old Fashioned and Port Cask Finished Bourbon
A bourbon’s story doesn’t necessarily end when it leaves its original barrel. Increasingly, distillers are turning to secondary maturation to add another chapter, one that can reshape the whiskey beneath it. That idea sits at the heart of Oaklore’s Story Series. Built around the belief that every barrel has a story worth telling, Oaklore Distilling… The post Review: Oaklore Story Series 2026 – Old Fashioned and Port Cask Finished Bourbon appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Kerala Reduces Alcohol Prices
The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) has reduced liquor prices in the state, with the new rates having come into effect from May 1, across several popular brands. The price cut ranges from ₹10 to ₹50 depending upon the brand and category. Several well-known labels, including Old Monk, Officer’s Choice, and Le Mount Rum, are among the brands affected by the revision. All retail outlets have been instructed to update billing systems accordingly. According to officials, 500 ml bottles will generally see a price reduction of around ₹10, while mid-range and premium brands may see cuts ranging from ₹20 to ₹50. More than 50 liquor brands are expected to be covered under the new pricing structure. BEVCO officials stated that the price change has been implemented based on directives from manufacturing companies rather than a government tax adjustment. The revision is also linked to market performance, with some brands included after a recent decline in sales.

Why You Should Book Your Portugal Trip with a Travel Advisor
So you've decided to visit Portugal for a (wine) trip. You open your laptop, type "Tours Portugal" or "what to do in Portugal" into Google, and within seconds, you're drowning in 47 browser tabs, conflicting TripAdvisor reviews, and endless accommodation options. Every winery promises a unique experience, every tour claims to be authentic, and every recommendation seems to contradict the last. Somewhere in that noise is the perfect trip—but comparing your options feels overwhelming, and neither Google nor ChatGPT can easily help you discover the truly unique, lesser-known experiences that match your interests.

What is Saison beer?
What exactly is a Saison? Ask ten brewers and you may get ten different answers. While Saison is widely recognised as one of Belgium's classic beer styles, its farmhouse origins and long history of interpretation make it surprisingly difficult to define. In this article, award-winning beer writer Stephen Beaumont explores the origins of Saison, the role of yeast in shaping its character, and why this refreshing Belgian style remains one of the brewing world's most fascinating categories. In the 1980s and early ‘90s, Belgium was experiencing its transformation from a little-known beer-drinking nation to the global centre of brewing ingenuity,. Much of that newfound attention was driven by the work of beer writer Michael Jackson, whose influent

The un-Cava, Cava
As shown in the report on the Corpinnat sparkling wines, there’s no debate as to the solid momentum behind this association. What started as a group of six ‘rogue’ high-quality sparkling winemakers abandoning the Denomination of Origin Cava has turned into a serious bubbly force to be reckoned with. I feel like the larger question being asked now isn’t, “Why would someone leave DO Cava?” and much more, “Why wouldn’t someone join Corpinnat?” While it may seem a rather obvious direction to take, there are vast and varied barriers to […] For full access, please log in or purchase a subscription.
