From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to Our Own Backyard
2 Days of Hope & Community At Reuben’s Brews, we’ve never been shy about our “nerdy” side. We’re the kind of people who can argue about hop profiles for hours and then immediately pivot to debating whether Han shot first. We love the lore, the legends, and the sprawling Star Wars universe because it’s a […] The post From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to Our Own Backyard appeared first on Reubens Brews .

Tenute Perda Rubia: l’anima profonda dell’Ogliastra

Laurent-Perrier
Here is the absolutely mesmerizing 27. iteration of ‘Grand Siecle’ by Laurent-Perrier. Today it is my pleasure to share renowned champagne producer, Laurent-Perrier which was established in 1812. Located in the heart of Champagne, in Tours-sur-Marne, vines are set on limestone soil, highly chalky and showing the distinctiveness of the region. The chalk subsoil holds sufficient water, during dry spells and due its porous nature also provides good drainage when it is wet to prevent roots of becoming water logged, acting a bit like a sponge. Laurent-Perrier produces a beautiful range of champagnes including one of the world’s most popular Rose champagnes. I adored the new NV Laurent-Perrier Brut Rose Champagne (OB, 93) which is so delicious to enjoy now. One with good aging potential is the 2015 Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne (OB, 94) which is dense and delicious stuff with serious weight from this slightly warmer vintage. Chef du cave Michel Fauconnet Laurent-Perrier in August 1973 doing

Robert Biale
Here is the sensational new lineup of 2024 Zins by Robert Biale. It is my pleasure to bring you one of California Zinfandel producers. The story of Robert Biale is an inspired history that utilizes some of the oldest Zinfandel sites in the area, producing wines with good ripeness but overall a focus on poise, flavor and aromatic range. These are wines that are well-structured and bring a great sense of place. At the helm is David Natali. A New York native, David graduated from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and developed a passion for winemaking after bottling at a friend’s small winery. He formerly served as cellar hand at Clos Pegase Winery and later studied at the University of Montpellier in France, where he received his master’s degree in Viticulture and Enology. After two and a half years of living and studying abroad in Montpellier, France, and Udine, Italy, David returned to California. He became the Assistant Winemaker for La Rochelle Winery, later taking the Assistant

What was once a supplementary revenue stream has evolved into a core economic and brand strategy for wine regions worldwide. 12x12 Review: Wachusett Summer Mix Pack
Beers Included: Summer Ale, Pilsner, Blueberry Ale, Blood Orange Ale Purchase Date: 21 June 2025 Purchase Price: $15.99 Initial Impressions Wachusett is always a brewery I've had a soft spot for. In an era before Untappd, one of my early craft beer memories was the inside flap of one of their sample packs was a post card. I cut off the flap, reviewed the beers in the 12-pack, stuck a stamp on the piece of cardboard and mailed it to the brewery in exchange for a prize. The keychain bottle opener I received in the mail was on my keyring for several years. The brand has evolved quite a bit since it's 1994 founding. They started producing classic styles like the severely underappreciated flagship Country Pale Ale. Blueberry Ale, which is in this 12-pack, has probably been their best-selling beer since the early 2000s if not earlier. Wachusett was one of the first New England breweries to make a range of IPAs. Their original IPAs were old-school east coast , but with more of a M

Sip Sustainably in Lodi: Where to Taste LODI RULES Wine
Have you ever picked up a bottle of wine and looked closely at the label? If you're tasting in Lodi, chances are you've noticed a small green seal on the back of the bottle. It reads CERTIFIED GREEN, and it tells a story that starts long before the wine enters the bottle, one that reaches back into the vineyard rows, the soil, and a farming community that decided decades ago to hold itself to a higher standard. That seal is the mark of LODI RULES , America's original third-party certified sustainable winegrowing program. More Than a Label The program evolved from the Lodi Winegrape Commission, formed when Lodi's growers came together to protect the long-term future of farming in Lodi, for their families, their neighbors, and the generations to come. Long before sustainability became an industry buzzword, the Commission launched a grassroots education program in 1992 aimed at reducing pesticide use by learning about the entire vineyard ecosystem. That effort, shaped by over a

Behind the Cork™ - Gundlach Bundschu Sonoma Mountain Cuvee
2019 Gundlach Bundschu Sonoma Mountain Cuvée ($18) For six generations and over 160 years, the Bundschu family has farmed the Rhinefarm estate vineyard at the crossroads of the Sonoma Valley, Carneros and Napa Valley appellations. Mountain Cuvée honors the Bordeaux blends of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Gundlach Bundschu sources it grapes from vineyards up against the Mayacamas Mountain range. For the Merlot, they seek grapes that ripen well and have an expressive personality and consistency. Then they look for the Cabernet Sauvignon to provide a darkness to the wine. They source the fruit from only two growers within 2 miles of their estate to create the Cuvée, or blend. During the winemaking process, they blend vineyard blocks together, evaluate and then create an appropriate oak-aging program, averaging 14 months in duration, primarily in French oak. This Gundlach Bundschu Mountain Cuvée is deep purple in color with soft aromas of deep black fruit, herbal hints and a touch of cara
