Four Roses Single Barrel Collection, 2026
I’d like to thank Four Roses and their PR team for providing this review sample with no strings attached In 1995, Four Roses launched Four Roses Single Barrel, OBSV, to much rejoicing from the masses (actually, as I was a freshman in college at the time, I have no idea if there was much rejoicing or just a collective shrug from the masses, but stick with me here). After 20 years of whining and complaining from people like me, they finally started to let us taste the other nine bourbons that they make, in single barrel form, by releasing the first installment of the Four Roses Single Barrel Collection . Now, these bourbons had been available as Private Barrel Picks for a long time, but those were at a higher proof and a higher price. But until last year, they had never sold them in a package that was accessible to the average Joe or Jane—one unwilling to spend high prices and go on unicorn hunts to the stores that carried the ones they were looking for. Enter the Four Roses Single Barre

Longrow 23 Year Old Cadenhead / 100° Proof (2026)
Here were have two recent Longrow expressions. The first is a 23 year old sherry cask from Cadenhead's Original Collection . A semi-official release so to speak. After that we have a true official bottling: the second release in the new Longrow 100° Proof series. We had the first batch (Pinot Noir) last year. I still don't understand why the name Longrow Red had to change if it's still about red wine casks after all. Longrow 23 yo (43,7%, Cadenhead's Original Collection 2026, Oloroso sherry hogshead) Nose: smoked fruit. Big hints of strawberry jam, blackberries and cherries. This comes with mild sooty notes and a nice dustiness, old leather and hints of cigar boxes. Then caramelized almonds, tobacco leaves, dark cocoa and prunes. After a while it comes closer to Springbank, with more brightness and a nice citrusy side. Mouth: a rather waxy fruitiness, not unlike those 1991 Laphroaigs of late. Some medicinal notes, becoming a little bittersweet and tangy. A winey touch, but nothing

Garden County Limited Edition 9 Year Old PX Cask
Garden County Limited Edition 9 Year Old PX Cask is the inaugural release in Garden County's Fortified Wine Cask. This release begins in Spain with a 9.5-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry cask finished single pot still Irish whiskey. Initially matured in bourbon casks, the whiskey spent its final 9 months finishing in a PX sherry cask, developing a rich and fruit-forward profile with notes of sultanas, prunes, gentle caramel sweetness, and layered sherry-cask depth. Distilled in 2016, the whiskey was produced using a distinctive mash bill of 62% malted barley and 38% unmalted barley — a recipe used only in that year before production moved to a 50:50 ratio. With just 294 individually numbered bottles yielded, this first release is a highly limited expression and a unique example of modern Irish single pot still whiskey. To celebrate the individuality of the series, Garden County Distillery will collaborate with a local artist on each release, using the bottle label as a canvas to interpret

Garryana wood plays profound flavor role in Bardstown Bourbon Co. Cascadia Bourbon
This wood and barrel toast strategy drives powerful flavors and aromas. The nose is surprisingly vibrant for its 107 proof. The whiskeys' 9 to 10 year age range emboldens the nose considerably with bruleed sugar, warm brownies, charred oak and overripe apples.

Australia’s Glandore Whisky Makes India Debut
India’s premium whisky market is steadily embracing newer global styles beyond Scotch, bourbon and homegrown single malts. Joining this expanding landscape is Glandore, the first Australian whisky brand to officially enter the Indian market. Imported by Basil Alliance Services Pvt Ltd, Glandore Australian Whisky has now reached premium retail outlets across South and Central Delhi, following its initial rollout in Uttar Pradesh. The company is also eyeing expansion into Haryana and other northern markets. Crafted using Victorian grain and matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, the whisky is later finished in Australian Chardonnay wine casks, giving it a smoother and fruit-forward character. The brand says the whisky has been designed to appeal to Indian consumers looking for approachable yet premium international spirits. The whisky offers notes of vanilla, honeycomb, caramel and ripe fruits, balanced with gentle oak undertones. Positioned in the affordable premium category,

June 4: Socrates’ Birthday
It's Socrates’ Birthday. Born in 469 BC, the Greek philosopher died 70 years later when a trial didn't go his way and he was ordered to drink a glass of hemlock. But before he got around to that last draught, he did manage to get into some wine. How much? Well, let's just say he had a complicated relationship with the vine. In one breath he would tell people, in a loud and sometimes drunken voice, that he could take or leave the vino. Then in the next, he would swear that he could outdrink anyone at anytime and never even act drunk. He liked to say that his challengers, as they rolled about in a stupor at his feet, would look up and think him a statue, because he stood up so unwaveringly straight. Just untouched by the stuff. And if you didn't believe him, well, why didn't you just break out an amphora of the good stuff and let's see what's what? It was also reported that Socrates rarely paid for his own wine, and it's not hard to see how.

Stagg Jr Bourbon Batch 11 Review: Were the Older Batches Just... Better?
“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” – Jackie Robinson The unconditional kindness and proclivity towards sharing that is inherent in the whiskey community is one of my favorite parts about being in this industry. It's the direct message that turns into a dear friend—when someone goes above and beyond to help you expand your palate and experience because that is simply what brings them joy. That's what I got from striking up a conversation with...

Stagg Jr Bourbon Batch 26A Review: Expectations on Consistency
“Average is always a safe choice, and it is the most dangerous choice you can make.” – Erwin Raphael McManus I'm always grateful to try new releases—to be one of the first to bring you the truth in a bottle. When my good friend Jason Kass heard I had not yet tried the 26A release, despite being known as "The Stagg Man," he swiftly brought over his bottle so we could fresh crack it together. His kindness didn't end there, though; he left me with another 2 ounces so I could polish up a full...
