Loch Lomond Inchmoan 12 Year Old
I was reading an interesting article on Loch Lomond on LinkedIn of all places this week. The story was basically involving the consistent profitability of Loch Lomond Group since it was bought over by a Private Equity company – Exponent in 2014 and then Hillhouse Capital in 2019. Under previous family ownership the Loch Lomond […]

April Fool
I couldn't let April Fool's Day (admittedly yesterday) go by without posting this clip from a television programme back in 1957. It was aired on a programme called Panorama - which still exists today - and covers all manner of topics but always serious and political. This particular item was broadcast on 1 April 1957. The date should have given a clue to its authenticity, but so many people believed it was true. I suppose in those days, pasta was a relatively new concept to us Britons and the BBC was a highly revered institution that couldn't possibly be telling untruths.

Whiskey Review: Remus Babe Ruth Reserve 2025 Bourbon
Introduction We’re back with another premium pour on Film & Whiskey, and this time we’re diving into the 2025 edition of Remus Babe Ruth Reserve, a limited-release bourbon from Ross & Squibb Distillery, better known as MGP. This is the house label for all of their in-house whiskey releases, and the Remus brand has built a strong following in recent years thanks to high-quality blends like the Gatsby Reserve. The 2025 Babe Ruth Reserve blends three different bourbons: two from 2017 and one from 2016, clocking in at 8–9 years old. The mash bills lean rye-heavy, with one blend featuring 51% corn, 39% rye, and 10% malted barley. Bottled at 111 proof, this release is limited to 8,300 bottles: rare enough to feel special, but accessible enough to hunt down. Let’s dive in. Nose Brad: Really like the nose. It's got apricots, got caramel. It gets that kind of sweet mint that I would expect from a rye. It's a really pleasant, not like super complex, but a little b

U.S. Spirits Exports Slid 3.8 Percent in 2025 Amid Ongoing Tariff Battle
Revenue from U.S. spirits exports dipped by 3.8 percent in 2025, a much gentler drop than the 26 percent plummet experienced by the wine and beer categories. Exports of American spirits raked in $2.37 billion last year according to the 2025 American Spirits Exports report from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS). Ongoing international trade battles, particularly in key markets across Canada and the European Union, account for much of the dip, DISCUS says in a press release about the report.
