The Macallan Romantica Collection -Celebrating 100th Anniversary
The Macallan has launched the Romantica Collection, a rare single-cask release and 1986 vintage created to commemorate the centenary of The Macallan 1926, widely regarded as the most valuable bottle of wine or spirit ever sold at auction. The release reunites three internationally acclaimed artists— Sir Peter Blake , Valerio Adami and Michael Dillon —who previously created artwork for The Macallan 1926. Their new works form the artistic foundation of the Romantica Collection, offering a contemporary interpretation of a whisky legacy that has captivated collectors for decades. The story traces back to 1926, when brand custodian Janet 'Nettie' Harbinson laid down a cask that would later become The Macallan 1926. Bottled 60 years later by her great-nephew Allan Shiach , it yielded only 40 bottles. In the same year, 1986, a single sherry-seasoned European oak cask, numbered 9925, was filled and left to mature quietly on The Macallan Estate. Four decades later, that cask emerges

podcast· 53:10· Ep 559The Surprising Reason Bordeaux's Grand Châteaux Say No to Wine Trends: Meet Pauline Frandin.
In the throws of the current marketplace, the reactions throughout the wine world must and should be different. How Napa handles it is and could be completely different than Burgundy. Bordeaux is no exception. I have had the pleasure and honor to host some of the great Chateau at the Wine Talks studios and each episode is compelling; and I always come back to the same conclusion: Stay the course. Pauline Frandon doesn't just represent a château—she embodies the soulful heartbeat of Bordeaux, and on this episode she sits down to unravel all those questions you've ever secretly pondered while swirling a glass: Why do grand châteaux send their emissaries hopscotching around the globe? Are those elusive "second labels" just leftovers or hidden gems with their own stories? You'll discover how, for Pauline and her peers, every drop in the glass is both an art form and an act of emotional connection, a portal into centuries-old traditions guarded fiercely even as trends and generations shift.
videoBenromach 12 Unpeated Review | Summerton Club Exclusive Sherry Cask
Benromach is a distillery normally known for its old-school, lightly peated single malts. But this time on Whisky Shared, we are stripping away the smoke to look at a rare, unpeated 12-year-old aged exclusively in first-fill sherry casks. This expression was bottled as a limited release for the Summerton Whisky Club but is it good value at £59.95? Without the peat to hide behind, does the spirit still carry that classic Benromach character? Join me as I dive into the surprising waxy texture and

As many of you know, I like to categorise things. It helps me digest ideas as well as compare and consider. It’s also pretty handy when preparing bottles for vPub discussions. Over the years we’ve had ‘Under-the-Radar’ whiskies - those which are known by some but often kept secret. We’ve had ‘Sleepers’ - those unknown gems waiting to be discovered. And we’ve had multiple visits to brands under the ‘Ignored’ series theme - the brands and producers who we just seem to be able to walk past, despite

videoTorabhaig Taigh, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
Torabhaig Taigh. What a stunning work of beauty, and that's before we even talk about the liquid. Aileen Grant has worked absolute magic with this design. I'm yet to venture to Skye, but these images are so warming and comfortable in their style. The whisky is all about 'smoke with taste'. A combination of first fill bourbon, refil bourbon, and some ex-Madeira. It starts off so biscuity and salty! Then the smoke starts to seep through the vatting. Welcomingly west coast with Torabhaig's citrus a
videoJameson Triple Triple Shootout: Marsala vs. Malaga vs. Chestnut Cask Review
Which Jameson Triple Triple reigns supreme? Today on Whisky Shared, I’m doing a full "shootout" between all three expressions in the Triple Triple range: the Malaga, Chestnut, and the brand new Marsala Cask Edition. While the original Triple Triple was a travel retail exclusive, the series has grown into a fascinating exploration of how different "third" casks influence that smooth Midleton DNA. I've reviewed the Chestnut version previously, but it’s time to see how it stacks up against its Sici
