videoTeeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
Teeling single grain has become such a go-to or introductory product for folks who want to get into Irish whiskey, without defaulting to a larger brand. Column distilled and made from 95% corn and 5% malted barley, this is a more unusual grain as it is fully matured in ex-Californian Cabernet Sauvignon casks. It's toffee driven whisky, with lots of nutmeg, chocolate, spices cherries and berry compote. When was the first time you tired it? #whisky #whiskey #teeling #singlegrain #irishwhiskey
videoClydeside Fortnight, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
Located on the banks of The Clyde in an old pump house with an incredible family history, here we have Clydeside Fortnight. A peated single malt, produced during the two week period of the year where the distillery gets smoky! Aged for six years in refill ex-bourbon casks, this is a bottle of whisky that is perfect for existing peatheads, or those looking to get into the style. Coming in at 46% with no additional colour of chill filtration, it's a bountiful aroma and taste that isn't reliant on

videoGlenallachie Sinteis Part 2&3 - Whisky Wednesday
Glenallachie Sinteis Part 2 & 3 (sin-teesh) Meaning synthesis in Scots Gaelic. It's impossible to not pay attention to anything that Billy Walker is doing. He's the king of sherry maturation and, along with myself, a huge fan of virgin oak maturation. It wouldn't be long until we saw a fusion of his two cask passions coalescing into some limited edition releases for us all to fawn over. All natural colour with no chill filtration and bottled at cask strength, these bottles are some of the most w
videoEagle Rare 12 Year Old, 47.5% - Whisky Wednesday
I, like many others, was quite excited when this hit the UK shores. Eagle Rare is such a solid bottle of bourbon, especially when you can get it for a normal price - in all honesty, we're lucky to have access to something as good as that. Enter Eagle Rare 12 Year Old! a slightly older, boozier version of a gold standard. The big question is, do we think it's worth the extra £20/£25 per bottle? Those extra few years in Kentucky warehousing can be brutal on flavour as well as evaporation. The shel
videoTorabhaig Taigh, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
Torabhaig Taigh. What a stunning work of beauty, and that's before we even talk about the liquid. Aileen Grant has worked absolute magic with this design. I'm yet to venture to Skye, but these images are so warming and comfortable in their style. The whisky is all about 'smoke with taste'. A combination of first fill bourbon, refil bourbon, and some ex-Madeira. It starts off so biscuity and salty! Then the smoke starts to seep through the vatting. Welcomingly west coast with Torabhaig's citrus a

videoLoch Lomond Open Edition 2026, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
This is one of the yearly releases in the whisky industry that really shows off how fun and engaging Loch Lomond are as a distillery. Matured initially in ex-American oak and then finished in ex-Argentinian Malbec casks, this is a 46% offering from the folks of Loch Lomond that has a lot going on under the surface. I'm still genuinely unsure if it is peated, or contains a cask or low peated whisky, but I can certainly taste something ashy and sweet on the finish. A sweet, interesting and differe
videoJamesons Distiller's Batch Single Pot Still, 46% - Whisky Wednesday
Matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry, there are then three different virgin oak influences: European, American and Irish. Irish virgin oak has been some of my favourite of Irish releases in the last few years, it's normally an instant buy from me - plus, as a bourbon fan, this is just me on paper. It's a complex, chewy, spicy, subtly sweet style of Midleton Pot Still style, and I must say that I'm finding it incredibly moreish. This was something I had to order through Midleton's website, as it's
