Aflevering 30: De Ahr
podcast· 49:16· S4E12The New Beaujolais
Stuff is going down in Beaujolais. Natural wine is a hot trend. Beaujolais Nouveau is re-inventing itself. The top sites have never made better wine. A new generation is revitalising the scene. Geological research has revealed eye-opening results. And growers aren't afraid to throw caution to the wind (Côte Rôtie barrels and Sciacarello anyone?!) Phew. It's also newsworthy: the region is submitting its first ever application for the top sites to be designated Premier Cru , the highly-prized status afforded only to some of the finest vineyards in Burgundy. We get the low-down on all of this courtesy of dogged investigative work (yes...we do include drinking wine under that heading...) as well as interviews with leading growers Grégoire Hoppenot and Xavier Thivolle plus Caroline Santoyo of Inter Beaujolais and David Roberts MW of Goedhuis & Co. We also throw in some factoids. For example, did you know that until World War II, a bottle of good Moulin-à-Vent Beaujolais cost the same as a b
podcast· 31:18The BEST Australian wine REVEALED (not Penfolds Grange 😲)
"Holy S***" Surprising a Master Sommelier with his FAVOURITE wine! 4 different vintages 🤯🍷 Master Sommelier Carlos Santos has been talking about Wendouree Winery in Clare Valley, South Australia on nearly every episode of Got Somme to date. So when we got the chance to surprise him with a flight of 4 different vintages and varietals from the brand he said "NO F***ING WAY". The Wendouree vineyards were established in 1893, and its distinctive, high-quality wines are known to have an indefinite shelf life despite their little production. They have grown to be somewhat of an Australian cult favourite among savvy wine drinkers. The only way to get them when they go on sale is via the mailing list, which is still one of the most difficult to join in Australia. We have a confession! The Marys had never sipped a Brazilian wine before Apex Brasil invited us to join a small group of wine journalists to tour the country's main wine region. So we invite you to get in on Brazilian wine now -- we're here to tell you Brazil's wines are the next thing in wine. To help you navigate what's happening in this South American wine producing country, wine journalist and expert Mauricio Roloff is joining us from Brazil! Mary O met him when he gave a master class on Brazilian wine the first day of the wine trip. He's the perfect guide for your Brazilian wine adventure! Saúde! (Cheers in Portuguese)

podcast· 49:01Episode 29 - The Favorite Sister and A Sincere Sancerre
If you’ve ever wondered how real reality shows actually are, this is the book for you. Join the 5 stars of ‘Goal Diggers’, Brett, Kelly, Stephanie, Jen and Lauren, their families and the show runners to see all the drama in front of and behind the cameras. The book begins with the death of one of the stars and the clock winds back to let us see how everything careened so horribly off track. We are left wondering where the illusion of perfection and the lack of all values except production value ultimately lead. When all of the action is manipulated by someone for ratings or a specific character arc, is there anything real left to learn? Do these women deserve their outcomes? Do we care enough about them after seeing behind the curtain to want to intervene? It is a fascinating look into the lives we love to lead vicariously. None of the hijinx on the show would be possible without the ‘truth serum’ that is chemical alteration- xanax, valium and wine figure prominently in Goal Diggers, s

Early signs look really great for '23 as a vintage. John Seccombe was clearly having a bad day - Was great to hear Koen in his element after all the drama he had late last year. Some Pinot Blanc being harvested for the first time is exciting for one of the producers. And some haven't even started yet! :) Cheers, David from Ex Animo.
podcast· 53:49· Ep 112#112 Je hebt zelf kurk
012: Diseases of Pruning Wounds with Kendra Baumgartner
Pruning wounds can leave your vines and trunks susceptible to certain disease-causing pathogens.
