Winemaker Dinner: Bert Salomon at Quality Chop House
It’s interesting, the little avenues that life takes you down. I’ve been at Lea & Sandeman for nearly three years now, and I’ve enjoyed each one more than the last, but, despite working exceptionally hard at the ‘research’ part of the job, I still haven’t tasted every wine we have. One particular wine that I’d […]

Meet some of the folks that make up Georgia’s wine industry
Tyler Barnes became a winemaker by accident. Pamela Borgel is first (and only) woman to start a winery by herself in Georgia. La Tanya Eiland first became fascinated with winemaking as a student in the 1970s, when her grandmother sent her to visit Italy. TTB Speaks up on Social Media
After 9 long years of technological advancement in the internet age, TTB quietly released Industry Circular: 2022-2, updating its Industry Circular: 2013-01 on alcohol social media last week. As a longtime legal advisor on compliant alcohol marketing, I was very curious what direction TTB would go, since so much has changed in this space since 2013, when TTB had to explain to industry members that social media was not just a conversation among friends but was actually regulated advertising. In this post, I will remind readers what the old policy said, explain what has changed in the new policy, and point out what’s missing.

Where to Wine Taste in Healdsburg: Copain Wines
Let me introduce you to one of my absolute favorite wineries in Russian River Valley: Copain Wines. My love for Copain runs deep for many reasons, including their French-inspired winemaking process and the incredible talent of their winemaker. Did I mention the incredible views of the Russian River? Copain Wines is a wine country destination that you don’t want to miss! What is Copain Wines? In French, Copain is defined as “friend,” which is very fitting for a winery that encourages celebrating the little things in life with friends and family. When you visit Copain, you’re a friend, indeed. From personal experience, I can confirm that the winemaker, Ryan Zepaltas, is amazing. He is very talented at what he does and it shows in his production. However, the positive impressions don’t stop with Ryan. The entire staff at Copain offer incredible hospitality (shout out to Michael) at every visit. Where is Copain Wines? Located in Healdsburg, CA, Copain Wines overlooks the Russian River. It’

The Barrel Room Parlor is hosting its first LIVE event!
The Barrel Room Chronicles podcast (formerly Spirits of Whisk(e)y) was born out of the pandemic in order to continue the momentum started while filming a whiskey and food TV pilot. Little did we know the podcast would take on a life of its own and still be producing episodes three years later. Starting with audio only and moving into virtual video interviews BRC has strived to better the production value as we have grown. Season 2 of BRC is no different. Now that the travel restrictions have lifted, we are taking the show on the road starting on the emerald isle. Look for my live in person Irish whiskey tour episodes in Ireland airing in early 2023. But that’s not all! We are expanding the Barrel Room Parlor to include LIVE and in person events! As each Irish episode is completed, we will hold an in person viewing / tasting event prior to the online premier of the show. Some events will even take place before the end of season 1.&nb
