The Great Wine Capitals Global Network has awarded its 2026/2027 International Research Grant to Rongrong Huang of Macao University of Tourism and Dr Matthew Coyne of Oklahoma State University. How are leading wine regions adapting to changes in wine production and visitor expectations? The 2025 Great Wine Capitals Members Data Report explores these developments across the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, spanning 11 countries and four continents. According to the report, member regions collectively produced approximately 29 million hectolitres of wine in 2024. Alongside this production, wine tourism is becoming an increasingly important source of income for wineries, with investments in hospitality, cultural attractions and experiences that connect visitors with local producers.
