POUR SOME LOVE IS BACK — AND THIS TIME, IT'S ALL ABOUT GAMAY
Last summer, we opened up the cellar and invited a small group of wine lovers to step behind the curtain of our Love & Squalor Pinot Noir. You tasted through vineyard tiers, debated blending ratios with Matt and Alana, and went home with notebooks full of scribbled percentages and strong opinions. It was one of our favorite nights of the year. So we're doing it again — and this time, we're turning our attention to Gamay Noir. POUR SOME LOVE: Blending Event with Matt, Alana & Jess June 25th | 6–8 PM $45 General | $25 Club Members | Limited to 20 People Gamay is a grape that rewards experimentation. It's expressive, layered, and surprisingly versatile — and we've been working with several different barrels this vintage that each tell a slightly different story. On June 25th, we will walk you through a tasting of our barrelled Gamay Noirs, starting with finished wines so you have a reference point, then diving into the barrel samples themselves. From there, it's your turn. You'll play wit

WHAT IS TRASHY BOOKCLUB?
Welcome to Trashy Book Club: Wine, Romance, and Absolutely No Apologies Some book clubs serve tea and discuss literary symbolism. Ours serves wine and debates which fictional love interest would actually ruin your life in the best possible way. Welcome to Trashy Book Club — and yes, we own that name proudly. So, What Exactly Is Trashy Book Club? Every other month, on the third Thursday, a wonderfully unhinged group of readers gathers to drink good wine, talk about deliciously over-the-top books, and — as it turns out — make some really great friends. We meet from 5:30 to 7pm, and if you're running a little late from work, don't worry. We talk a lot . You won't miss a thing. Best of all? It's completely free to join, and no RSVP needed. Just show up. The twist that makes our book club a little different from the rest? You're not just drinking wine in someone's living room — you're at a winery, with snacks, and either our owner or our assistant winemaker is right there in the room with y

What Does Our Wine Club Actually Get You? Let Us Show You.
A Peek Inside the Spring 2026 ‘Friends With Benefits’ Wine Club for Vintner's Choice 12 Ever wondered what it's actually like to be a wine club member at Portland Wine Company? We get that question a lot — usually right after someone finishes a glass at the tasting room and starts doing the math in their head. The short answer: it's pretty great. The long answer is this blog post. Twice a year, our Friends with Benefits Wine Club members receive a carefully curated box of Love & Squalor wines — pre-releases that haven't hit the shelves yet, club-exclusive bottles you can't buy anywhere else, and critic-recognized pours at a 20% member discount. Spring shipments go out just before Mother's Day; Fall boxes arrive right before Thanksgiving. It's the kind of thing that turns a good season into a great one. Here's exactly what's going into the Spring 2026 Vintner's Choice 12 box — so you can see for yourself what you've been missing. Why the Wine Club Exists (and Why We Love It So Much) Whe

Share & Pair — Nine Weeks of Wine, Snacks, & Good Company
Spring in Portland is best enjoyed with a glass in hand and good peeps around you. That’s why, once again, we’re participating in Share & Pair, a national campaign bringing people together over wine and food. Every week in May and June, we’ll feature a rotating lineup of featured wines and bites designed to help you slow down, enjoy something delicious, and actually spend time with the people you like. Our weekly specials are available Thursday through Sunday. And as long as the sun is out, the patio will be open. Here's what we have planned: April 30 - May 3 — Sauvignon Blanc + Whipped Feta with Parmesan Garlic Potato Chips Friday, May 1, is International Sauvignon Blanc Day, so this is the perfect opener. Bright, crisp Sauvi B meets rich, herby whipped feta — and those chips are not optional. May 7 - 10 — SuperGlou Red Blend + Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pão de Queijo) SuperGlou is our super crushable chilled red blend. Pão de Queijo is warm, cheesy, and impossible to eat just one of. Ma

Spin the Bottle: Loop de Loop Takes the Pour
Friday, April 24th | 5–8 PM | Portland Wine Company If you’ve been to one of our Spin the Bottle nights, you already know the deal: we clear a little space in the tasting room, invite a winemaker we love (or have loved for a long time), and let things unfold. It’s casual, it’s a little chaotic, and it’s always delicious. No tickets, no RSVP—just good wine, good people, and a chance to connect with the humans behind the bottles. For our next installment, we’re especially excited to welcome Julia Bailey Gulstine and Scott Gulstine from Loop de Loop Winery into the mix. Julia’s not just any guest—she goes way back with Angie & Matt, which makes this one feel a bit like a reunion tour (the kind where everyone actually still likes each other). And if you haven’t had the chance to taste her wines yet, this is your moment. Loop de Loop is rooted up on Underwood Mountain, an extinct volcano perched at the edge of the Cascades. It’s the kind of place that quietly does all the work for you—eleva

Spin the Bottle with Mijita Wine Company
Saturday, March 28 | 2–6 PM | Portland Wine Company Our Spin the Bottle Guest Winemaker Series keeps rolling this month, and we’re excited to welcome Lizzy Esqueda of Mijita Wine Company to the tasting room on Saturday, March 28 from 2–6 PM . Founded in 2021, Mijita Wine Company is a tiny but mighty label producing just 200–300 cases a year at a cooperative winery alongside a handful of other small producers. Lizzy focuses on sourcing fruit from sustainably farmed and organic vineyards across the Pacific Northwest , with the belief that the real magic of winemaking happens out in the vineyard. The farmers and vineyard stewards who nurture these sites all year long are at the heart of every bottle. In the cellar, Lizzy takes a light-touch approach , aging wines in neutral barrels to let the fruit and soils of the Pacific Northwest shine through. The result is fresh, vibrant wines that are expressive, balanced, and incredibly food-friendly. Lizzy will be pouring a lineup that shows the r

Celebrate Riesling's Birthday with Matt on March 13th!
Celebrate Riesling's Birthday with Matt on March 13th! Join us for an exclusive evening dedicated to the elegance and versatility of Riesling. Last year we compared Old World vs. Domestic versions and talked through those classic differences and what Matt loves about them. This year, we have landed on West Coast Rieslings from BC/WA/OR/CA. All producers Matt likes from the Left Coast of North America and a look at how climate and site shape the wines up and down the coast. It is more of a regional deep dive than a showdown. Same grape, similar latitude, different expressions. We will choose by climate, soil, winemaker, etc. It will be relaxed, comparative, and thoughtful, but not too serious, of course. Event Highlights: Tasting Experience: Savor six distinct Rieslings, including our signature Love & Squalor selections and some of Matt's personal favorites from the West Coast. In-Depth Discussion: Gain insights into Matt's inspirations, winemaking journey, and the unique characteristic

Love & Squalor going to the big APPLE
We are beyond excited to be heading to Brooklyn, NY for a very special wine dinner at Zoli Restaurant , and this one feels extra special for a lot of reasons. Zoli is the newest project from the team behind Houseman , led by restaurateur Ned Baldwin , whose thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach has long been one of our favorites. Located on the campus of the Amant Center for Contemporary Arts , Zoli sits at the intersection of food, wine, and creativity—basically our happy place. In addition to their regular service, Zoli hosts an ongoing Tuesday night pop-up dinner series called Dinner Upstairs —and we’re thrilled to be part of it on February 17th . Matt and Angie are especially excited to pour our wines in a space that values intention, collaboration, and seasonal cooking as much as we do. The menu Chef Daniel Roberts has put together is playful, precise, and deeply rooted in great products—an ideal match for how we think about winemaking. And then there’s this little whisper we hea

SPIN THE BOTTLE: TWILL CELLARS + LOVE & SQUALOR
Spin the Bottle: Twill Cellars Spin the Bottle is our favorite way to hang out with winemakers we genuinely like and drink wines we’re excited to share. On Saturday, February 21st (from 2-6pm), we’re welcoming Twill Cellars , a Northern Willamette Valley producer rooted in long-term relationships—with the land, the vineyards, and the people behind the bottles. Twill Cellars is owned by Darrel and his wife Molly , who planted their original 2+ acre vineyard back in 2000. More than 25 years later, they’re still committed to sustainable farming and sourcing fruit entirely from the Willamette Valley. What started as a small vineyard has grown into a thoughtful, vineyard-driven winery that focuses on place over flash and substance over hype. Winemaking is led by Chris , who has been in production for nearly 20 years. He came to wine the long way—no formal training, just a college bartending job, a lot of reading, and working his way up through cellars. Before landing at Twill in 2013, he wo
