“The olive trees on the SCRIBE Estate are now 15 years old. We first got the idea to plant them after a trip to Italy back in 2010, when our friend Stephen Singer invited me on his annual olive oil pilgrimage to Tuscany. He had been importing Tuscan oil for 20 years, and every October he traveled to taste and buy the fresh olio nuovo from his producers. Upon my return, we planted four Tuscan varieties of olive trees (Coratina, Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino) and now wait for October each year, a month after the last grapes have be

podcast· 46:46· Ep 503Château d'Yquem: Exploring Wine, Noble Rot, and Human Emotion with Lorenzo Pasquini
Wine is experiential. It is what the industry has to hang its hat on. Each glass needs to conjure up emotion, memories and a sense of being. My father bought his wine shop in 1969 and a started his academic journey to understand and promote wine. He took master classes before they were masterclasses: German Wine Academy, the Italian Wine Consortium and many more. He was a learner. So when he was telling me a story about one of the most emotional wines he had ever tasted, and how he had waited in a long line to get a thimblefull of a taste, it was required listening. That day at a Hueblien auction, they were auctioning the iconic 1921 Chateau d'Yquem and I believe the auctioneer was the famed Michael Broadbent. When I heard that Lorenzo Pasquini, the Director of Chateau d"Yquem was going to be in LA, I created a stir of inquiries to get him on the podcast. We ended up at Wallys famed wine bar and restaurant for a sit down episode of the show. I have to tell you that sitting down with Lo

We’ve received many questions about how we are managing the rise in Spotted Lanternfly, or SLF, the effects of this summer’s heavy rains, and how tariffs are affecting the business.

This week on Wine Thirty , Andrew and Lindsey Evans are back with a casual catch-up episode—pouring a glass of La Czar Zinfandel and diving into everything from global headlines to reality TV chaos. They kick things off with a check-in on life lately—what’s been going on behind the scenes, what they’ve been watching, and how they’re feeling heading into this season of life. Then, they get into a heavier conversation about current events in Iran, sharing thoughts, reactions, and how they’re processing what’s unfolding globally. Of course, it wouldn’t be Wine Thirty without some pop culture—so they break down the drama surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul and the shocking cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette just days before it was set to premiere.
