From the Editors: Welcome to the Chronicle
A quick word on what the Chronicle is, what it isn't, and how to read what we publish.
by My Liquor Library Editorial
The Chronicle is the editorial layer of My Liquor Library. The library itself — the catalog, the tasting notebook, the recommendation engine — answers the question "what should I drink?" The Chronicle answers a slightly different one: "what's actually going on in this industry, and how do I make sense of it?"
What you'll find here: industry news that we've actually thought about, regulatory affairs explained without the jargon, awards coverage with a healthy skepticism about which medals matter, new-release announcements that don't read like press releases, and educational pieces aimed at the curious-but-not-credentialed reader. We lean on primary sources where we can. We mark our work — every article will tell you when we're drawing on documented fact and when we're drawing on professional judgment.
What you won't find: clickbait, breathless allocation drops, advertorials, top-ten-lists optimized for SEO over usefulness. We're an editorial publication that happens to live next to a tasting product, not a content marketing channel for the catalog.
You can subscribe via RSS at /feed.xml, follow specific topics, and (eventually) follow specific journalists. The journalist program opens later this year — if you've got something to say and the writing chops to back it up, watch the /add page.
Pour something. Read something. Send us a note at contact@myliquorlibrary.com — we read every email.
