Chehalem and Stoller
Great photo of Oregon wine icon, Bill Stoller, who graciously spent time with me for an interview before his passing last year. Today we share the Rose wines of Chehalem and Stoller. I wanted to give my heartfelt remembrances to Oregon wine icon, Bill Stoller who I chatted with last year. Stoller dates back to 1993 when Bill Stoller acquired a family property from his cousin. Immediately Stoller saw potential to grow world class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Two years after the acquisition he planted 10 acres each of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and fast forward to today the vineyard is now the largest contiguous vineyard in Oregon's Dundee Hills. The property spans 400 acres, with 225 acres focused on growing vines at elevations ranging from 220 to 640 feet. Ten varietals are planted in this vineyard, including Viognier, Pinot Meunier and even Aligote. The new wines were awesome and Chehalem winemaker Katie Santora has created another outstanding Rose. I really enjoyed the 2025 Chehal

Dirty Job closing brewery in Mansfield
Image credit: Dirty Job Brewing. Dirty Job Brewing has announced it will close its doors in Mansfield. A group made of Derek and Lashawn Hubenak, along with Justin Watson, opened Dirty Job on N. Main St. in Historic Downtown Mansfield during the summer of 2017. And at the time, it was the city's first and only brewing operation. The brewery's most popular beer was The Short Stack, a maple pecan porter, though a personal favorite was Sluggo's Black EyePA. Dirty Job also produced No Big Dill, a cucumber wheat, throughout its run, with that beer and The Short Stack being examples of the company's trademark willingness to experiment with different flavors in its recipes. From a social media post: "We are ready to let you all know. It has taken some thinkin’, some reflectin’ and a lot of back-and-forth decidin’. We are officially closing up shop here in Mansfield. Do not be sad for us. We came to this decision for multiple reasons, but mostly because we are ready to get back our time

An Update on the April 21 Frost
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the effects of last week’s devastating frost at Dodon, when no vine was left untouched, despite improved cold-air drainage in the low spots and the fans running in a futile attempt to bring warm air into the vineyard.

Exclusive: The Wine Group Acquires ‘Phony Negroni’ Maker St. Agrestis
The Wine Group (TWG) has acquired St. Agrestis, the company behind the rapidly growing non-alcoholic ready-to-drink (RTD) Phony Negroni, chief marketing officer Helen Kurtz tells VinePair. TWG has not disclosed the transaction’s sum. In addition to the Phony Negroni — a non-alcoholic riff on the classic cocktail and the brand’s most popular product — St. Agrestis’s portfolio includes other zero-proof and alcoholic RTD aperitivos and Negronis. TWG’s purchase marks its first significant foray into the spirits sector, but Kurtz says the company plans to hone in on St. Agrestis’s non-alcoholic portfolio.
