Review: Copper & Cask Small Batch Series – #15 and #16
Copper & Cask, owned by Latitude Beverages, does not distill its own whiskey but makes blends with whiskey drawn from distilleries across Indiana, Kentucky, and Canada. Today we are trying two whiskeys: one drawn from well-aged bourbon casks in Indiana and another drawn from very well aged casks in Canada. The latter is a Cigar… The post Review: Copper & Cask Small Batch Series – #15 and #16 appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: TX Whiskey Experimental Series Vino de Naranja
Fort Worth’s TX Whiskey has been on something of a tear when it comes to experimental releases, with new versions currently dropping multiple times per year. One of the latest is Experimental Series #15, which features two main components, both produced and matured on-site at the Pernod Ricard-owned distillery: 5 year-old straight rye whiskey bourbon whiskey,… The post Review: TX Whiskey Experimental Series Vino de Naranja appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Eagle Rare Bourbon 30 Years Old
When Buffalo Trace announced Eagle Rare 25 in late 2023, the news effectively came with a wink and a nod: Yes, it was the oldest Eagle Rare to date, but don’t be surprised to see more “ultra-aged” whiskey coming down the pipeline. By 2018, the distillery had already invested millions in Warehouse P, an experimental… The post Review: Eagle Rare Bourbon 30 Years Old appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Old Forester The 117 Series – High Angels’ Share Rye
At this point every whiskey drinker should be well aware of the angel’s share, the impact of heat cycling in the rickhouse, causing evaporation of whiskey from the barrels. With this release of The 117 Series, Old Forester investigates what happens when the angels get very thirsty. The selection is drawn from barrels of Old… The post Review: Old Forester The 117 Series – High Angels’ Share Rye appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Lagavulin 11 Years Old Sweet Peat
11 year old expressions of Lagavulin have historically come with one man’s name attached: Nick Offerman. All four of the Offerman Edition Lagavulins have been 11 year old offerings, and no others that we’ve tasted. Lagavulin 11 Years Old Sweet Peat isn’t a one-off but a new permanent expression, aged completely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks.… The post Review: Lagavulin 11 Years Old Sweet Peat appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Elijah Craig Single Barrel Bourbon 15 Years Old
There is absolutely no shortage of Elijah Craig bourbon expressions, but age-stated editions have been hard to come by since the release of Elijah Craig 18 Years Old was released way back in 2015. Elijah Craig 15 Years Old seemingly came out of the blue this season, offering an older but slightly tamer experience than… The post Review: Elijah Craig Single Barrel Bourbon 15 Years Old appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release 2026 – Boiler Hill #2 Rye
Jack Daniel’s has been dropping ultra-proof whiskeys since the launch of the original Coy Hill Special Release, each one seemingly more popular than the last. Review: Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon (2026)
If it seems like we just visited Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon, you’re not taking crazy pills. The 2025 batch dropped around November, and not even six months later, we’ve got a new release. Indeed, along with a new (age-stated) rye, this year’s bourbon is part of a double-header that coincides with the company moving… The post Review: Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon (2026) appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Oban 15 Years Old Port Cask Finish
Hot on the heels of its 15 year old Cask Strength edition, Diageo has launched another Oban expression… and it’s another 15 year old. While the Cask Strength release was finished in sherry casks, this one’s done in Port (though at 52.1% abv, it’s not far from the proof of the cask strength expression). Turns… The post Review: Oban 15 Years Old Port Cask Finish appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Kilkerran 16 Years Old
Kilkerran, like many other Campbeltown whiskies, owes its existence to the late Hedley Wright. The fifth-generation scion of the whisky-making Mitchell family resurrected the single malt’s parent distillery, Glengyle, in 2004 after nearly 80 years of absence. Of the many dead Campbeltown distilleries to bring back to life, why Glengyle? It probably helped that the… The post Review: Kilkerran 16 Years Old appeared first on Drinkhacker: The Insider's Guide to Good Drinking .

Review: Booker’s Bourbon “Big Easy Batch” 2026-01

Review: Indri Agneya Indian Single Malt
One of the most notable distilleries in India, Piccadily’s Indri has become the largest-selling single malt whisky in India. Its latest release, Agneya, derives its name from the Sanskrit word meaning “belonging to fire.” As such, it’s a lightly peated expression aged in both sherry and bourbon casks, though it carries no age statement.
