What Makes Fall the Best Season for Wine Tourism in Portugal?

Fall is widely considered the best season for wine tourism in Portugal because it combines milder temperatures, the grape harvest (vindima), golden vineyard landscapes, smaller crowds, and easier availability than during the summer peak. The exact experience varies by region, from the terraced Douro Valley to the sun-baked Alentejo plains, so the "best" fall trip depends on what a traveler is looking for.
