Lleida & Costers del Segre, the destination
If visitors to Spain move on from Barcelona and start heading away from the Catalan Coast, towards Madrid by train, there's a point where they begin to rapidly pick up speed. I often wonder that, just as this is happening if they look at the horizon and wonder, “Wow, what on earth is that?!” At 60m in height, on top of a hill, the tower of la Seu Vella in the city of Lleida can be seen from many points around the province, but it’s clear that most people don’t hop off the train to investigate. The numbers prove this. There were a record-breaking 20 million people who came to Barcelona in 2025. For Lleida, the official numbers are 1.4 million and I suspect that’s for the entire province and most of it is going to be local, not international visitors. It's always been a curiosity for me as while…

The Tour de Burnet
The Tour de Burnet Six stops, ten miles, and one minor crash. For years, a group of friends have kept this informal North Austin tradition alive. The general goal is to bike to Draught House and then drink your way north until you decide to quit. The stops vary by the year and the mood of the participants, and people can tap out any time they want. This year, I was invited to participate, […] The post The Tour de Burnet appeared first on Craft Beer Austin .

BUCKLE UP WITH CLINT ORMS
After more than thirty years in business – twenty spent in The Old Ingram Loop – Clint Orms has moved into a spacious flagship showroom and state-of-the-art studio in downtown Kerrville, ushering in a new chapter for the seasoned silversmith. “I always wanted to buy a building,” Orms said of his new Water Street address, formerly a Bank of America. “We felt like it was a real opportunity to be a cornerstone in the city.” Three years of negotiations, design […] The post BUCKLE UP WITH CLINT ORMS appeared first on Rock & Vine Magazine .

Milam & Greene Distillery
When Marsha Milam first stepped inside a rickhouse, she fell in love with the quiet. Entering the nine-story, gymnasium-sized space packed with aging barrels was, for Milam, “like walking into a church.” The entrepreneurial scion of the Austin film and music scene was looking for a new challenge, and deep in the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail she found her inspiration. “I was blown away by its singleness of purpose,” she says. “The bourbon was resting – no one […] The post Milam & Greene Distillery appeared first on Rock & Vine Magazine .

Whatever became of the Texas Icehouse
Texas icehouses have gone through more changes than the college football playoff bracket. They are products of evolution. Over the course of the 20th century, they evolved into convenience stores, bait shops, neighborhood taverns and community beer joints, but in the beginning, it was all about ice. Before refrigeration, Texans needed ice to keep things cold. By the early 20th century, many households had ice boxes which were nothing more than insulated cabinets chilled with blocks of ice. That ice […] The post Whatever became of the Texas Icehouse appeared first on Rock & Vine Magazine .
