The First B&B Associate Bourbon Steward Class Is in the Books
Twenty people walked into B&B HQ on Saturday morning. All twenty are now Certified Bourbon Stewards. That's a 100% pass rate, which I'll take — though I'll also admit I was rooting hard for everyone in that room.

Arch Bridge Taphouse 11th Archiversary of the Oregon City craft beer renaissance
Arch Bridge Taphouse that helped revive Oregon City’s craft beer scene, is turning 11. Beer bars and bottle shops can be found pretty much everywhere around the Pacific Northwest, but it takes a certain level of comfort, curation, community, and culture to make a truly great one. You could call this the 4-C formula of a great beer bar and bottle shop. There are loads of places that possess one or more of these. However, only a select handful truly exemplify all of four Since opening in 2015, the little beer bar and bottle shop named after the signature bridge that crosses over the mighty Willamette River just feet from its door has brought all of the Cs together. Beer lover Gene Gilgorea established Arch Bridge Taphouse in Oregon City’s historic Bank of Commerce building with the intention of bringing some of their favorite beers to their small town in Portland’s backyard and hopefully making it past the one-year mark. “We were so new to this, I think we were just hoping to make

Gambero Rosso returns to Toronto with Italy’s top wines
From Tre Bicchieri tastings to limited-seat masterclasses, this event offers rare access to Italy’s leading producers For many, the Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri World Tour is defined by its walkaround tasting—a chance to sample some of Italy’s highest-rated wines in one place. But for those looking to go beyond the glass, this year’s Toronto stop offers something even more compelling: a series of focused masterclasses designed to explore Italy’s regions in greater depth. Taking place April 29 at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex, the annual event will once again bring together 46 Italian wineries whose wines have earned Tre Bicchieri, the highest distinction in Gambero Rosso’s Vini d’Italia guide. Yet it’s the smaller, more intimate sessions surrounding the main tasting that are quietly becoming the most sought-after experiences of the day. A closer look at Lombardy—before the main event For those eager to get an early start, the spotlight turns to northern Italy the day before th

Spin the Bottle: Loop de Loop Takes the Pour
Friday, April 24th | 5–8 PM | Portland Wine Company If you’ve been to one of our Spin the Bottle nights, you already know the deal: we clear a little space in the tasting room, invite a winemaker we love (or have loved for a long time), and let things unfold. It’s casual, it’s a little chaotic, and it’s always delicious. No tickets, no RSVP—just good wine, good people, and a chance to connect with the humans behind the bottles. For our next installment, we’re especially excited to welcome Julia Bailey Gulstine and Scott Gulstine from Loop de Loop Winery into the mix. Julia’s not just any guest—she goes way back with Angie & Matt, which makes this one feel a bit like a reunion tour (the kind where everyone actually still likes each other). And if you haven’t had the chance to taste her wines yet, this is your moment. Loop de Loop is rooted up on Underwood Mountain, an extinct volcano perched at the edge of the Cascades. It’s the kind of place that quietly does all the work for you—eleva

Fort George Brewery celebrates 2026 Vortex Month w/ five Vortex IPA variants
FIVE VORTEX VARIANTS FOR FIVE YEARS OF VORTEX MONTH Fort George Brewery out of Astoria, Oregon has announced their 2026 Vortex Month celebrating their flagship IPA with five special variants and a series of events. More from a press release: Over 19 years of making beer, Fort George has worked on a lot of IPAs. At least a few thousand. But by far the IPA they've worked on the most is their bestselling Vortex IPA . Vortex has been a Northwest favorite for nearly two decades, at the top of the charts from the Fort George taproom in Astoria to the shelves of your local bottle shop. Vortex was one of the first beers brewed on the Fort's 8.5 barrel brewhouse which still stands at the back of their Pub in Astoria, cranking out small batch experimental beers. It’s an ever-changing IPA - evolving in response to the tastes of people looking for a new and innovative beer, while maintaining its distinctive, unifying, familiar flavor across all of its many iterations.
