A Holiday Party + Pomander Punch Recipe
Image courtesy of Sarah Ehlinger. For me, it doesn’t really get more festive than a cocktail party that doubles as holiday arts and crafts hour. And chickens. Always AND CHICKENS. So we decided another wreath-making party was due. You can see the first one we did waaaaay back in the way back times here . There is just something really, really satisfying about decorating a wreath (shout-out to Trader Joe’s pre-made holiday wreathes that are so easy to customize), and being able to take it home and hang it on your door or wall for the season. What makes it even more meaningful is the way you have to navigate around chickens stomping through the crafting table. It would be too easy to just make wreathes without a poultry obstacle course, wouldn’t it? Nobody needs easy wreathes. Image courtesy of Sarah Ehlinger. Drinking with Chickens Day Soiree 2025

All images courtesy of Thalita Mangin Photography When I first registered National Drinking with Chickens Day alllllllllll the way back in 2019, I didn’t really have any concrete plans for the concept other than I just personally found it incredibly amusing to have a national day. At the last minute, we threw together a party at our old house—it was nothing fancy or big, but it was ALAWT of fun. And right then and there, I knew I wanted to turn it into a public event. So that was the ol’ plan for 2020. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd then 2020. And a subsequent five years of really demanding life stuff that prevented us from doing anything more than social media celebrations. And in that time, I’ve watched this ridiculous thing, this National Drinking with Chickens Day, grow into a giant, viral thing. Who woulda thunk. WHO WOULDA THUNK?!!! So here we are: 2025.
