The Charming Disarming And Slightly Alarming Beery News Notes For A Thursday In June
The nice thing about the youngest kid having a job with shifts that end at 11 pm is a fella like me can stay up late for the NBA Finals, listening to 660 AM every second evening when I am waiting out in the parking lot for the kid’s shift to end.* I am not … Continue reading "The Charming Disarming And Slightly Alarming Beery News Notes For A Thursday In June"

A look at 2025 North Texas production numbers
Click to enlarge. This is the annual update of the breakdown of brewery sizes in North Texas, based on 2025 production data as reported to the Brewers Association (BA) and published in the May/June 2026 issue of The New Brewer . Note, not all brewing companies provide their numbers, and some report statistics combining multiple locations. For 2025, roughly 80% of brewing companies active in North Texas are accounted for in the BA's production report. Data also includes production from breweries that closed during the course of 2025. As a result, the number of entities represented in the chart is not equal to the total number of breweries open and operating at any given time. Inside the numbers: Brewery tiers in North Texas, based on production (shown alphabetically): Regional (> 15,000 bbls) Manhattan Project Beer Co. of Dallas. Large (> 10,000 bbls) Martin House Brewing Co. of Fort Worth. Mid-Size (> 5000 bbls) Co

A Magnificently Monarchist League-less Mid-May Beery News Note Extravaganza For Victoria Day Weekend
Victoria Day weekend.* A most welcome springtime Canadian holiday about something and someone not a lot of Canadians take much time thinking about but, still, many don’t mind it – as long as we don’t pay the bills. U.S. Spirits Exports Slid 3.8 Percent in 2025 Amid Ongoing Tariff Battle
Revenue from U.S. spirits exports dipped by 3.8 percent in 2025, a much gentler drop than the 26 percent plummet experienced by the wine and beer categories. Exports of American spirits raked in $2.37 billion last year according to the 2025 American Spirits Exports report from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS). Ongoing international trade battles, particularly in key markets across Canada and the European Union, account for much of the dip, DISCUS says in a press release about the report. 2025 Year in review: Craft beer's continued mantra - adapt, adjust...survive
All logos and graphics the property of their respective owners. Image: Brian Brown/Beer in Big D. Another challenging year for the North Texas craft beer industry has come to a close. Yes, there are still headwinds. Yes, breweries are still struggling. Yes, growth is still stagnant (for the fourth year running), but a flat growth curve is better than one in a downward spiral, and North Texas is still holding firm (give or take) in terms of overall brewery numbers. And yes, a lot of these same things were said last year, and the year before that. It's just that the market environment hasn't changed much. If anything, headwinds are stronger ( according to the Brewers Association ), so many of the same messages from past years continue to apply - adapt, adjust...survive. As it applies to brewing operations, adjustments could mean changing up a product line, or even a business model. We've seen instances of both over the past few years, as owners have been putting other beverage types on t
