Welcome To Summer 2026! Here’s The Thursday Beery News Notes That I Dug Up
Taking a break from the TV and all the fitba, I was out and about this week doing a bit of visiting and looking for ice cream. Fields of grain. Sunny skies. I heard Indigo Buntings on separate country roads. Had me a mango sugar cone, thanks for asking. And no brain melting heat like … Continue reading "Welcome To Summer 2026! The Dreamy But Sadly Last Beery News Notes For May 2026
I have liked May so much this year that I am already missing it. Forty-eight weeks to May 2027. I’ve already circled it in my calendar. Just in the last few days it finally feels like spring. Archaeologists Discover Ancient Beer Receipts From 4,000 Years Ago
Cracking open a cold one is a common post-work ritual across many cultures today, but archaeologists discovered the practice dates back at least 4,000 years. The National Museum of Denmark has been home to a robust collection of tablets inscribed in now-extinct languages from early Middle Eastern civilizations for over a century, but archaeologists there, along with colleagues from the University of Copenhagen, only recently began to research them. The scholars deciphered a list of kings, administrative documents, and magic spells written in cuneiform — the tablet-writing system that ancient cultures in Iraq and Syria adopted around 5,200 years ago. Your Thursday Beery News Notes For The Week Of The Green And The Black
It’s that time of year. When being born of Scottish parents means nothing. Nothing!!! I think that is what Governor Kathleen Mary Courtney was actually saying when my FB pal (and fellow garlic grower) Sean took this photo at the Executive Manstion in NYC the other day. The Governor even has a pint of stout. … Continue reading "Your Thursday Beery News Notes For The Week Of The Green And The Black"
