Great logo for Academie Wines. Founding of Academie Wines We have some big news out of the Willamette Valley today with the founding of Academie Wines. This is a really enticing project founded by legends Thomas Savre of Lingua Franca fame, as well Dominique Lafon and Bertrand de Villaine. The idea is not to make Oregon wines just like Burgundy wines. They will have two levels of wines -- one that is more for the collector (Academie) and the other for everyday consumption (Ostia Tempore). Their top wine will be named La Grande Comète which is in homage to the comet, Tsuchinshan‑ATLAS, that graced the Willamette Valley skies in October 2024. Having followed Savre's career for more than a decade, I am thrilled to check out these wines and see what is produced by this new electric project. Learn more at academiewine.us Cheers, Owen

Long before many of his A list Hollywood movie star guests thought it would be a good idea to have their own drinks brand Graham Norton, king of the UK chat shows, first put his name to a range of wines that have gone on to sell close to 20 million bottles in 40 countries around the world. But he does a lot more than simply endorse the wines, he helps to make them - well blend them at least in a partnership with New Zealand producers, Invivo Wines , that goes back 15 years. Norton was in London recently with Invivo’s co-founders, Rob Cameron and Tim Lightbourne, to help blend the 2026 vintage and explain just what goes into making a Graham Norton wine at a press event to help launch and introduce the new wines to the UK - and international - wine market.
