Akram Fahmi, first Chairman of Seagram India, Passes Away

Akram Fahmi, the first Chairman of Seagram India and one of the key architects of India’s modern premium spirits industry, has passed away in the United States following a prolonged battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Fahmi, who stood by him throughout his life and professional journey. Fahmi belonged to a generation of business leaders who helped shape India’s alcobev sector at a time when the industry was still in its infancy. Born in India, he completed his graduation here before pursuing higher studies in the United States. He spent his entire professional career with Seagram, remaining closely associated with the company through some of its most consequential years of international expansion. SAP Media Worldwide expresses heartfelt condolences to the family.
