Lazarre, Albriño, Edna Valley, 2018

Today's LaZarre Wines 2018 Edna Valley Albarino is lovely to behold, like a jewel shimmering in the glass with its opulent peridot coloration. The nose if fresh and enticing with hallmark characteristics of elderflower, peach, and nectarine. There’s a bit of dried roses and some nice limestone minerality. A little bit of lemon meringue peeks out on the palate flanked by peach, granny smith apple, honeysuckle, and lemon verbena. This is a very nice Albarino with bright and cooling acidity that cranks the fruit up a notch. Serve well chilled with shrimp ceviche and make some new friends.

This grown in California wine is one of the most delicious and unique wines we've featured in these eleven years. This wine is a lush, dense treat was made by Mike Trotta of Elyse Winery. Mike's considerable talent is apparent at first sip of this fantastic, unique wine.

Noria, Pinot Noir, Bohemian Vineyard, Freestone, Sonoma, 2015

We're really enamored with today's wine and we offer it to you with our heartiest recommendation. When winemaker, Nori Nakamura offered us his perfect with sushi Pinot Noir, we were intrigued! A red wine... with sushi? We had to try this wine for ourselves. What we discovered is a Pinot Noir with a near universal pairing ability. Yes, it passes the sushi test with flying colors, but it also pairs with anything that we threw at it, from fowl to pork, to beef and even a pan of roasted root veggies with rosemary and pearl onions. This wine is a beautiful complement to most cuisines.

We've got the very last cases of their in-demand, off the beaten path flagship white, the aromatic, delicious Onesta Wines 2014 Lodi, California Clay Station Vineyard Grenache Blanc. This varietal is mostly in Rhône wine blends and in Spain. Onesta gives this varietal a special California uniqueness.

Dane Cellars brings us a Zinfandel for Zinfandel Lovers. This Gold Medal winning and 93 point wine is an intoxicating fruit bomb that impressed our Agents - especially the Zin-fanatics among us. If you're a fan of the grape, or want to see what all the fuss is about, this delightful Zin shows off the very best of what "California's grape" can do when properly handled by a skillful winemaker. This Zinfandel has a deep, dark crimson hue that is consistent to the very edge. The nose on this wine is intoxicating and intriguing, with notes of fresh ripe fig, creme caramel, brambles, potpourri, and quince. Wow! Once you tear yourself away from the bouquet and get around to sipping the wine, your palate is rewarded with butterscotch, blueberry, fig, vanilla, brown sugar, and cherry. This light-bodied Zinfandel has very approachable tannins that make this one an easy-drinker from start to finish. Today's 2013 Reserve Alexandre Alexander Valley Sonoma County Winemaker's Reserve Meritage is a mouthful. In every sense! This rich, dense wine is the historical, flagship blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc that the winery has produced since 1983.

Onesta, Cinsault, Bechthold Vineyard, Lodi, 2013 - Featured on Wine Spies!

Last year, we introduced you to Onesta Wines and their brilliant 2012 Cinsault. That wine was incredibly popular with your fellow Operatives, and it sold in record numbers for a non-mainstream varietal. We're thrilled, today, to bring you their 2013 Bechthold Vineyard Cinsaut, a stunning wine that's even better than the prior vintage! Bright red on the nose, with Bing cherry, pomegranate, and red currant, followed by dried fall leaves, dried wild mushroom, kola nut, cedar and slate mineral. Spectacular on the palate, bursting with juicy Bing cherry, blueberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, soft spice, slate mineral, softly toasted oak, vanilla, and a hint of white pepper. So, just what is Cinsault?! Pronounced SaN-so, it is one of the 13 varieties permitted in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape region in Southern France (amazingly, there are more Cinsault vines in France than Cabernet Sauvignon vines!). One rarely finds it bottled on its own, which makes today's wine all the more special.

Today we celebrate our decade-long relationship with Peterson Winery, with the release of their flagship single vineyard wine, their incredible 2010 Bradford Mtn. Vineyard Syrah. This delicious wine explodes with flavor and has the sort of plush, chewy feel that we've come to love about Peterson's Syrah. Ka-Boom! An explosion of aromas rushes out of the glass to greet the nose.
