The Story Behind The Canned Wine Co. Label - Designed by Neil Tully MW

Ben presents a video introducing you to the stories behind each of the Canned Wine Co. range's colourful designs. The designs are made by the Master of Wine Neil Tully, from Amphora Design in Bath, who has modelled each one on Ben's tasting notes of each wine. The idea was first inspired by the excellent Sarah Heller MW. Sarah paints each of her tasting notes into beautiful portraits to give her followers an idea of what her impression of each wine's texture and flavour was like. We wanted to share a similar visual cue for our customers to instantly understand the various styles of wines we offer at Canned Wine Co., from Markus Huber's Vibrant & Zesty Gruner to our full-bodied Old Vine Garnacha by flying Scotsman winemaker Norrel Robertson MW. The range also features a plush, ripe and velvety Viognier from Famille d'Exea in the Languedoc, a fresh and fruity Mediterranean rose from Thierry Boudinaud's family vineyard, and a bright red wine St Laurent from Austrian producer Walter Glat

Vivien Magyar from Borett Wines, Hungary's premier boutique wine agency founded by Maria Antoanett Crab, interviewed Tamás Kovács , winemaker at Szent Donat Estate in Csopak, Lake Balaton. Established in 1994, the Kovács family purchased St Donat to continue over 200 years of vineyard legacy and in 2011 Tamás Kovács was one of the joint-creators of the Codex of Csopak, a registered system that monitors high quality viticulture in the region. St Donat wines are unique thanks to the volcanic soil on the western shores of Lake Balaton, a beautiful lake in the west of Hungary, with some vines even growing in the crater of the Tihany volcano. Ben Franks worked with St Donat wines for 8 years while CEO and wine buyer of Novel Wines, the multi-award-winning wine retailer specialised in central and eastern Europe.
